The Tamale Metropolitan Office of the Electoral Commission has run out of voter registration materials to register prospective voters in the ongoing limited voters' registration exercise.
The situation led to agitation amongst some of the prospective registrants, who thronged the office in the Tamale South Constituency on Friday to be registered under the exercise.
Mr Mohammed Musah, Registration Supervisor, Tamale Metropolitan Office of the Electoral Commission, who spoke to Ghana News Agency, said he has informed the Regional Office of the Electoral Commission about the shortage of the registration materials.
Mr Musah said he was assured that the materials have been dispatched from Accra and would soon be delivered to the Regional Office for distribution to the registration centres for the registration exercise to proceed.
However, the agitated prospective registrants were not happy with the shortage of the registration materials suspecting that the office was trying to do something untoward.
They, therefore, demanded closure of the office, which was complied with.
