Three persons have been confirmed dead following an explosion at the Juaben Oil Mills in the Juaben Municipal Assembly of the Ashanti Region.
Report indicates that four out of nine persons who sustained serious injuries have been rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
Two of the victims have been identified as students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The Juaben township has been thrown into mourning. Authorities at the company say they suspect a mechanical failure in one of the facility’s boilers for Tuesday’s (5 October) incident. The Juaben Oil Mills has since suspended operations.
Meanwhile, investigations have begun into the cause of the explosion.
