His Excellency, President John Evans Atta Mills, has described criticisms of his government by people from within the NDC as a healthy development in a democratic system. According to him, democracy cannot be complete without free expression.
President Mills made this observation when he fielded questions from news editors on the performance of his one-year-old government at the Castle today.
On what perhaps is the single biggest policy of the NDC since the party assumed power a year ago, President Mills said the government has initiated programmes from different angles to ensure that Ghanaians would feel the economy is moving forward in a different direction.
The President would also not equate to corruption the allegations of financial malfeasance against former Sports Minister Muntaka Mubarak which resulted in the ministers resignation.
"Communication Team"
Asked whether he is worried about the performance of his communication outfit within the 1st year of his government, President Mills said he is not worried but concerned about the work of the communication outfit of his government.
"I'm aware of the views of the Vice President who is a communications expert...a restructuring of the communication outfit will be done when it becomes necessary," he assured.
