The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) is expected to arraign before court today the indicted deputy head of the Commercial Crimes Unit of the Police CID, DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda, for the alleged role played in the infamous cocaine barter.
The top female police officer has remained in BNI cells over the past two weeks and the national intelligence outfit is going to court to justify why she is still being kept in custody despite being released on bail by an Accra Human Rights court last Friday.
The BNI re-arrested DSP Tehoda on Friday, hours after her release.
Meanwhile, Citi News has been told by the husband of the embattled police officer, Kwasi Tehoda, he will also be in court today to demand reasons for his wifes continuous stay in detention.
