Information available to Citi News indicates that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will on Tuesday hold a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the request of President John Dramani Mahama.
Though the agenda is unclear, the source said President Mahama might suggest Vice President Amissah-Arthurs name for consideration by the NEC as his running mate for the December general elections.
The party is also expected to adopt its 2012 manifesto for onward launch on Saturday.
The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia confirmed the meeting to Citi News saying, the indication that we have had is to the effect that the President wants us to discuss something, which he has not disclosed yet. I very strongly believe that it could be about the running mate, but he has not indicated that this particular meeting is about that consultation.
