The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie will on Monday appear before the Committee set up by the Chief Justice to investigate allegations that the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur met with the Justices of the Supreme Court before the final verdict on the election petition.
The allegations was made by dismissed Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hammah on a leaked tape.
The Committee headed by retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice Kofi Date-Baah has two weeks to investigate if indeed the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur met with some Justices of the Supreme Court before the final verdict on the election petition.
Mr. Owusu Afriyie�s appearance before the Committee has become necessary because the NPP petitioned the Chief Justice to investigate the allegation.
The Committee has also invited dismissed Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hammah.
