The invitation extended to the chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan and two other ministers to come and brief parliament on the suspended district level elections, has been rescheduled for Tuesday. The three were to appear before the House today.
However, the deputy majority leader, Alfred Agbesi, yesterday told parliament that the Business Committee made all the efforts to bring the EC chairman and the Ministers of Local Government and Finance but because of the short notice, it was not possible to invite all the three and would therefore need more time to bring them before the House.
The deputy majority leader had requested for next week Thursday as the appropriate date to invite the EC chairman and the ministers, but the speaker, Edward Doe Adjaho, after listening to concerns raised by members, ruled that the three should be brought to parliament on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 for the briefing.
