Drama unfolded at Moree in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) district of the Central Region when Patrick Mantey, brother of Vice Preisdent Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, openly declared his intention to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and campaign for the party to win the upcoming elections.
Mr Mantey, who is the first cousin to Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, stated that he had joined the NPP due to the harsh conditions in the country under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
“I am dumping the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the NPP because they have nothing good to offer Ghanaians and I do not see any better future, should the NDC and Mahama retain power,” he stressed.
Mr Mantey joined the NPP when Nana Akufo Addo, the party’s standard bearer, took his tour of the region to Moree, the hometown of Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, at the weekend.
The vice President’s cousin stressed the need for the people of Moree not to vote for the NDC in the upcoming elections, noting that the ruling party has disappointed them.
“We have now seen that even though the vice President is from this town, nothing good has been done to improve the lives of the people in this community, hence the need to vote for someone who can bring development to this area,” he said
