The Communications Minister says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a lot in store for nurses, nursing students and graduate nurses as there is an employment opportunity for some 12,000 people when the party wins the December elections.
Dr Omane Boamah said a project to add some 6,000-beds to hospitals and polyclinics across the country from 2017 by the NDC government would guarantee the above-listed jobs.
There has been a lot of complaints by nursing school graduates who say they have been unemployed after school.
Some are quick to travel abroad where they say their services are much needed because of unemployment in Ghana. Also, they claim they are well paid abroad.
Some nurses have picketed at the Health Ministry in the last few weeks in protest to either not being posted after they graduated or received their salaries for a long time.
Speaking on Health and Education at the manifesto launch of the NDC’s manifesto in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region, Dr Boamah said President Mahama is determined to do more in the two sectors.

If you can't pay those already employed by the government why should anybody with sane head on their neck believe NDC government could employ 12000 people and pay them.. Its all lies people don't believe NDC and their lies.
Mr Minister, if you have those vacancies, don't wait till 2017. Just employ now. A great number of us do not believe you and your government so prove us all wrong by employing the nurses now.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. This is your youthful captain speaking... On behalf of the crew and of Akonfem Airways, I would like to welcome you aboard our flight GH419 from Ouagadougou to Bole Bamboi. We will make a brief stopover at Tamale International Airport to pick up some freshly-minted Alhajis and Hajias en route from Mecca. My co-pilot is the competent Capt. Pee Kay A Arthur, with the smooth, urbane Koku as our flight engineer. Mama Anita de Soso is in charge of the cabin crew and they will soon take you through the safety procedures, focusing on where the exits are. Please pay attention. We will be cruising at an altitude of 32,000 feet. Some mild turbulence occasioned by elephant noise is to be expected but we expect an otherwise smooth, yentie obiaa flight. Please relax and enjoy our fine SADA wine, with the compliments of our catering staff, as we taxi endlessly and in circles, building several foundations on the runway for a smooth take off. You will find our in-flight magazine, The Green Book, very entertaining, with beautiful drawings and a cartoon section for kids. You can also plug into our multichannel music system, where a wide range of music, from A Plus' latest hit 'ab3n bebom', to Lumba's 'Yentie Obiaa' is available for your listening pleasure. Once again, welcome aboard. Thank you.

We will be smiling on Dec 8 and can look to a brighter future without this fuuuuuuuuuul in the Flagstaff house.
