The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has charged the Electoral Commission (EC) to declare the results of the special voting which will precede the December 7 polls to avoid rigging.
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the Affigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti region, observed that keeping the special voting ballots for one week before declaring the results could promote rigging and confusion.
He consequently tasked the EC to immediately declare results of the special voting on the same day of voting so that none of the political parties in the country could have the chance to manipulate the elections.
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, who is well respected in the NPP in the Ashanti region, stated categorically that the NPP would not allow anybody to rig this year’s elections, stressing that the special voting could be an avenue for rigging if care is not taken.
He disclosed this at a special durbar organized by the NPP Women Wing at Affigya Kwabre South, which was geared towards mobilizing a large number of women in the region to campaign vigorously for the NPP.
According to the NPP guru, if the EC decides not to declare the results of the special voting, then there should be a mechanism whereby the ballot boxes would be locked with different special codes by the various political parties in order to make it impossible for them to be broken into.
He stated that the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), who are the head of security in their various areas and appointed by the sitting government could secretly work to manipulate elections to favour the ruling political party.
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah was of the view that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, led by President Mahama, had failed abysmally during its eight-year tenure so it would lose the polls in free and fair polls.
Otiko Afisa Djaba, the National Women’s Organizer of the NPP, admonished Ghanaians to assess their standard of living and vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and all the NPP parliamentary candidates to save the country from total collapse.
She charged women in the NPP to be bold and take their rightful positions to enable the party to secure first round victory in the December polls.

Are you not educated that the law was passed in parliament. Talk to your MP"s who passed the law and didn't be lawless by blaming the EC
I WILL VOTE FOR JOHN MAHAMA
WHY WILL THEY NOT COUNT IT ? WHAT SENSE DOES IT MAKE ? AJIMIFO NDC AND THEIR SUPPORTERS.
No need to DECLARE such results
WHO ARE THOSE WHO WILL VOTE THIS T---H---I---E---F. ? WOABODAM.
These people now want special voting results to be announced. It will still go against them. They will then turn around to say it was unconstitutional to declare part of the results when the elections have not run their full course. They think they know, yet they are hollow.
