Electoral Commission (EC) office at Suhum in the Eastern Region has been closed down following an attack on the officials by unknown assailants Thursday night.
According to reports, a group of thugs ransacked the office and took away the printer being used for the voter transfer exercise in the area.
Adom News’ Maxwell Kuderkor who visited the office said, the EC officials have vowed not to open the office until maximum security is provided.
They noted that the thugs whose names were given as Oduro and Mohammed followed them to their house and threatened to kill them if they go near the office.
An Assistant EC official who only gave his name as Morgan revealed that the same thugs threatened him days ago before the latest attack.
But some of the people who throng the EC office to transfer their votes were left disappointed since they have to travel to Koforidua to get it done.
Meanwhile, Suhum National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organizer, Kofi Wayo has rendered an unqualified apology to the EC for the act.
Though he claimed the NDC has not hand in what happened, he believe the right thing must be done to prevent a recur.
Mr. Wayo said the printer which was taken away by the thugs has been returned to the EC office.

We are watching how Ghana police and the EC will handle this. The printer should be rejected outright. Where is Asiedu Nketia and his cohorts haven't seen or heard this.Kofi Adams is also asleep. This ***barred word*** must cease before Dec.7th. How can they do this without provocation. This is what they do and they will have ministers and party men signing for their release.
This is sickening and whether ndc like it or not they will go to opposition and those idiotic footsoldiers must understand the rule of law will work so what they are sowing today, they will reap tomorrow and they should remember what happened to the montie3, whether remission or pardon they are still ex-convicts and they were in for one month, your time of conviction ndc will not be in office to use article 72 to release you so ndc footsoldiers keep on misbehaving. Your time is up.
SADDENING.
These two Guys must be prosecuted to serve deterrent to others who are planning to cause the same havoc come December 7. Out Security should put Party affiliation aside and do what is right. We should KNOW that NO JUSTICE, there will be NO PEACE.
HOW WERE THEY ABLE TO BRING BACK THE PRINTER? THE PEOPLE WHO BROUGHT THE PRINTER SHOULD BE ARRESTED. AND SHOULD BE PROSECUTED TO SERVE AS A DETERRANT TO OTHER HOOLIGANS
If it was NPP members or Hon. Kofi Jumah the EC and the Ndc Ghana Police would have arrested . Why are we leaving in ***barred word*** Farm under NDC John Mahama. Hell fire burn this violent Ndc party back into opposition.
NDC AND LIES. THE NDC IS APOLOGISING BECAUSE THE TWO GUYS ARE KNOWN NDC ACTIVISTS IN SUHUM. THIS IS NO SECRET TO US IN SUHUM. WHY THE SPIN. ? WHY SHOULD THE YOUTH ORGARNISER OF THE NDC APOLOGISE WHEN HIS PARTY IS NOT INVOLVED IN THE CRIMINAL ACT. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ARRESTED BUT YESTERDAY THE SUHUM POLICE WAS RATHER BEGGING THEM TO RETURN THE PRINTER.
