Lead counsel for beleaguered businessman Alfred Agbesi, has revealed that his client under oral examination by former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Martin Amidu will not divulge the alleged beneficiaries of the 51.2 million cedis he wrongfully received.
According to Mr. David Annan, the application for Mr Woyome to be orally examined by Martin Amidu, is not meant to reveal the supposed beneficiaries of the cash.
“People are already jubilating because they feel names will be mentioned in court. The examination is to determine if my client has the capacity to pay back the amount he wrongfully received or otherwise”, he disclosed.
Speaking on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, he stated those who are already jubilating with the hopes of names being mentioned are legally ignorant and should seek explanation from the ruling.
Lawyer David Annan revealed that his client is more than prepared for the exercise on Thursday adding that there is absolutely nothing to hide and those who are seeking to vilify his client may be disappointed.
He accused Martin Amidu of pursuing a political agenda under the guise of an anti corruption campaigner adding that it defeats the main purpose for which he went to court.
“Martin Amidu is now using the whole Woyome issue for political gain. If not so why will he be calling for a change in government? This is a manifestation that he has veered off the legal path which discredits and weakens his fight as ant corruption activist”.

WHAT AT ALL HAS THIS LAWYER ANNAN GOT TO DO WITH THIS CASE. I THINK HE TALKS TOO MUCH. YOU ARE WITH WOYOME AND YOU HAVE NOT ADVISED HIM TO PAY THIS MONEY. NOW ITS HOW MANY YEARS NOW? YOU HAVE MADE THE NPP PARTY WHO HAVE NO POLITICAL MESSAGE TAKEN ON THIS. THEY USED IT IN THE LAST ELECTION BY COMPOSING SONGS ON IT YET THE NDC WON AND NOW YOU PEOPLE HAVE SAT DOWN FOR THEM TO USE IT AGAIN. AS FOR THE MONEY WE NEED IT NAMES MUST BE MENSIONED WHU ARE YOU BLOCKING HIM NOT TO DO THAT.WHY ARE YOU INCLUDED ME AM WAITING FOR THE NAMES. I THINK MY ANNAN IS TOO SLOW.
Obi ne y3m hyew hahahaha i laugh saaa, this man fear ooo. ab3n b3 bom, change is coming
CLARIFICATION FOR MR DAVID ANAN. This why Martin Amidu has called for a change of Government: That the NDC Government, given 100 years, CANNOT, WILL NOT, collect the money from Woyome. Current basis for this conclusion is that the AG has chose to "correct a technical legal error" arsing from the permission by the Supreme Court to allow Amidu to cross-examine Woyome, INSTEAD of straight away pursuing the collection of the money from Woyome. Protecting Woyome is a priority for the AG more than collecting the money. So the thinking of Amidu and all Ghanaians (minus top NDC secret holders) is to replace NDC with another government who will not be hindered (indeed empowered) to go for the money. Hope he gets it now. Amidu is a leftist, and cannot join the NPP
....sometimes in cross examination you end up saying things outside what your lawyer has asked you not to say. It is not for David Annan to say his client will not mention names that depends on the intelligence and smartness of Martin Amidu and how he puts his questions. But why Woyome's lawyers asking/teaching him not to mention names? lol we shall all see on Thursday.
Annan, you are a fuuuuuuuuul. Did you not also lose at the supreme court? As far as we are concerned, woyome has to sack you because u are a useeeless lawyer who cannot win any case. Woyome will be made to answer any question regarding the money and you cannot sit there and act as if you know law. iddddiotttt.
I hear David Annan speak and i ask myself what kind of lawyers is the Ghana School of Law producing these days; his statements and analysis are so shallow.
Ahhh, what is your fear?? If nothing wrong has been done, why are you afraid for names to be mentioned. If it's not a matter of create, loot and share, then he should mention names and let's all see the beneficiaries. This will help all of us and will also determine who we will entrust our public finance purse to. If all this while that the court has asked him to pay the money involved and the AG has done little to enforce what the court said and has finally decided not to follow for the money to be paid and has also brought a receipt of payment by EOCO, then where are we headed to?? Every pesewa has to be retrieved, but with this party, and his party in power,I wonder how that can be done
So there are beneficiaries after all? Surely the truth stands and shall surely come to light.
Thie.ves. You are happy he aint gonna mention names init?
If woyome won't mention names, that is ok. We also still have our thumbs. December, 7 go be sweet.
