The suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko, supported the NPP to ensure that the party won the presidential and parliamentary elections, Nana Yaw Osei, spokesperson of Mr Afoko, has said.
According to him, some of the party’s parliamentary candidates sought the support of Mr Afoko, which he willingly offered, hence the victory of the NPP could not have been chalked without Mr Afoko.
His comments follow calls by a leading member of the NPP, George Ayisi Boateng, that Mr Afoko should show contrition in order to get a route back into the party.
Mr Ayisi Boateng made the call to the suspended chairman while speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom, on Accra 100.5FM on Tuesday December 13.
But responding to this assertion in an interview with Emefa Apawu on Class 91.3FM’s 505 on Friday December 16, Mr Osei said: “If anybody should say that the victory of the NPP in the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections was without the contribution of Mr Paul Afoko, then that…person who has that opinion obviously doesn’t know what he is talking about.
“[Mr Afoko] supported the campaign and some parliamentary candidates came to him for help. I need not mention their names, and so support for the campaign came in different forms from different people.
“So let me say that if anybody should come out there to state that the victory came without [the involvement of] Mr Afoko, then that person doesn’t know what he is talking about. There are a lot of people who helped the party but do not boast about it, thousands of people offered help.”

Mr. Afoko, don't try any tricks.
This shows that prior to the election NPP were more united than what President Mahama and his party wanted Ghanaians to believe. Thank God all their propaganda misfired. My appeal to all the NPP members is that though a precious life was lost we should give room for repentance and forgiveness. It's God who knows why it happened that way.
Tweaaa says who,Afoko, May the blood of the innocent guy who died at Asewase- Ksi be upon Afokos head, what about his Bro involvement in the death of Upper East NPP regional chairman, u think we ve forgotten, Nana Yaw Osei , u were the one in charge of payment of the demonstrators against NPP in Accra, which caused the the death of the Asewase guy, Nana Yaw , u and ur Boz should dare not, now ur paymasters are not in power to shield u, don't even try any funny moves, u will see if u r the only Man in NPp
The issue of Afoko, Agyapong and co was ver unfortunate but as it is said every misfortune has its own blessing. For a very long time the political conversation was focuss on NPP. NDC became confused and could not decide how to handle the struggle in NPP. Besides, Afoko and Agyapong must be credited with the huge winning of parliamentary seats for NPP. while the NPP members of parliament had wanted to massage the hads of Akuffo Addo to manipulate the parliamentary primaries, Agyapong and Afoko were firm to employ open and fair approach to obtaine cadidated who the people like, hence the huge winning for NPP legislature. They might not be acknowledge but this is a fact nobody can take it away. If the party had continued with that system NPP would have won JJ's daughter seat.
I suggest Paul Afoko is appointed Ghana's ambassador to Burkina Faso to ensure he brings back all our guinea fowls and also extend JM's greetings to Kanazoe, the Ford giver.
Nana Yaw Osei did not help Afoko. He and Afoko have ended their political career
this is not the time to discuss any thing about afoko and Co.
Yes many people helped but not Afoko who went canvassing for Mahama. We heard and saw all.Now you say what? Afoko,Wereko Brobbey, Arthur Kennedy and the other traitors, stay away.
I remembered the day Afoko said he and his family will not vote for Nana Akufo Addo.there there's no one who can convince me with regards to this cock and bull story. He never wish Npp well and we all noted that well
Afoko is on record that he won't vote for npp and that the party would lose the elections.. You are now telling us he supported the party... don't really know who the arrogant one is? Whether his side or afoko himself. This pure arrogance
