Former deputy Minister in the erstwhile Mahama administration has accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of being economical with the true state of Ghana’s economy.
Cassiel Ato Forson said the president in delivering his maiden State of the Nations Address chose to double in politics instead of state the true facts.
“I’m disappointed because if you [Nana Addo] want to paint the true state of the economy, don’t pick and choose” he fumed.
President Akufo-Addo, while reading the address, said among other things: “Ghana’s debt stock now stands at 74% of GDP, after all the previous denials to the contrary,” adding: “As of the beginning of 2009, Ghana’s total debt stock was GHS9.5 billion. By the end of 2016, the debt had ballooned to GHS122 billion.”
But Ato Forson on Asempa FM Tuesday, expressed disappointment in President Akufo-Addo.
In his view, the president decided to “pick and choose” the economic indices that “favoured him politically” just to spite the Mahama-led administration
“He [Akufo-Addo] decided not to talk about Inflation, interest rate and Treasury bill rates because it will not suit his political agenda” he added.
The former deputy Finance Minister also revealed that, given the work done, GDP growth will grow in excess of 7 percent under the Akufo-Addo presidency but he failed to give credit to former President John Mahama.
Cassiel Ato Forson who is also the Member of Parliament for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Consistency in the Central region maintained that President Akufo-Addo chose to play politics rather than presenting the State of the Nations Address.

Ghanaians of goodwill towards the progress and development of Ghana should make concerted efforts to ensure that these NDC do*lts and dum mies are reduced to complete irrelevance by not paying them any attention or giving them platforms to spew their usual mind*less noise and non+sense. Such are the incompetent dim wits that destroyed a growing and progressing economy for the past 8 yrs
This is the dumbest argument I have ever heard . How can the president talk about the future performance of the economy when he is giving the state of the nation address ?????. Wow!!. So these are the people who were managing our economy????. Did President Mills talk about the impact the oil find would have on the economy when he gave the SONA in 2009????? I have a feeling Mr. Foes on thinks Nana Bawumia will do magic this one so he wants to take credit ahead of time.
Thank God today no plagiarism hahahaha laugh enter calippo inside Nana Addo paaa..eei Ghana we sold our color Tv for black and white. What is special about this SONA? someone should tell me. Just hope Ghanaians want to try Nana Addo and not to trust the future of this country in his hands because there is absolutely nothing he can offer.
animaaaaaal,go away
Ato forson you will be more disappointed than this.do you want the president to praise your corrupt government a job well done.hold on, your days are numbered and am waiting for the setting up the special prosecutor.a lot of you will go to jail. mark my words.if you were to know what was coming from heaven, you would have gone in for an iron hut.
OH Ato Forson PAAA !!!!!!; the fact is that you would say so would'nt you as an NDC pipe piper with no experience in the management of economic thought because you told Ghanaians that you were 'smart borrowing' for Ghana whilst you were rather leaving huge debts for Ghanaioans to pay whilst involved in irrelevant contract projects for Jon Mahama frineds and family including Dr Opuni ; so you say Nana Addo cherry picked areas that will suit him ;would not Jon Mahama have not done them same thing;that you seem to be proud of so what about inflation and what about interest rates and treasury rates ; what was the interest rates; inflation rate and the treasury rates when the NPP last left the management of the economy in the NDC hands ;and what sort of work do you envisage will push the growth from 3.4% to 7.00% ; is it the oil exploration or creative industries that will provide jobs to the youth of Ghana; can Ato Forson be more specific besides where did he get so much m,oney in this short period to build a house and this big hotel; Ghanaians are not fullsand will not accept this fake subjective economic commentary from NDC 'RAT' bags and thiffs like you .
ARE YOU HAPPY OF OVER 170 BILLION LEFT ON GHANAIANS WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR ? MY FRIEND !
