Former deputy Minister in the erstwhile Mahama administration has accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of being economical with the true state of Ghana’s economy.
Cassiel Ato Forson said the president in delivering his maiden State of the Nations Address chose to double in politics instead of state the true facts.
“I’m disappointed because if you [Nana Addo] want to paint the true state of the economy, don’t pick and choose” he fumed.
President Akufo-Addo, while reading the address, said among other things: “Ghana’s debt stock now stands at 74% of GDP, after all the previous denials to the contrary,” adding: “As of the beginning of 2009, Ghana’s total debt stock was GHS9.5 billion. By the end of 2016, the debt had ballooned to GHS122 billion.”
But Ato Forson on Asempa FM Tuesday, expressed disappointment in President Akufo-Addo.
In his view, the president decided to “pick and choose” the economic indices that “favoured him politically” just to spite the Mahama-led administration
“He [Akufo-Addo] decided not to talk about Inflation, interest rate and Treasury bill rates because it will not suit his political agenda” he added.
The former deputy Finance Minister also revealed that, given the work done, GDP growth will grow in excess of 7 percent under the Akufo-Addo presidency but he failed to give credit to former President John Mahama.
Cassiel Ato Forson who is also the Member of Parliament for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Consistency in the Central region maintained that President Akufo-Addo chose to play politics rather than presenting the State of the Nations Address.

who is this too?
I learnt my greatest lesson from this 2016 elections. Some small brains were playing God without permission like He was absent and had asked these guys to take over permanently. I know the greatest SIN now. PRIDE. Look at Forson and Co. God came back and did even not say a word and they all run away. Now they are throwing stones back at Him and those who gave them power. Just like Herod in the Bible. Do they ever learn?
WHY WON'T YOU? YOU, THE LADY AND TERKPER WERE JUST ALL JUST ONE BUNCH OF LYING BEINGS AT THAT MINISTRY. TERKPER INCOMPETENT, FORSON INEXPERIENCED, AND THE LADY SO SO TALK TALK. NOW THE CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG. GIVE US THE STATE OF THE NATION AS YOU LEFT IT. LIERS
Ato Forson you have not seen anything yet. I tell you your actual disappointment will come when your stolen asserts are freeze and you begin your languishing in jail, that will be when your real size will emanate. Criminals.
Time really changes O, Justice Atuguba now you see your REAL SIZE.In 2012 during the election petition you were on top of your voice as if you OWN GHANA. Next time you meet Prez. Akuffo Addo in court SALUTE AM. As Ablakwa would say INTERESTING TIME IN GHANA
Ato Forson wo maame "tw3" Wai "Abboa". Do you think we need a Rocket scientist to tell us the true SONA? We already know it. We feel it in our pockets. The rot in your government must be exposed
so the President did not lie. the worry of the ndc is that he didn't say things to please them. sorry
All this guys were ministers and pms that is why Ghana is sinking. He doesn't know anything
This gentleman misses the point entirely. He was a minister and has been a parliamentarian, so why is he not aware that the SONA is about generalities and impressions. The true details will come in the Budget in a few wk's time. His rigmarole is a testament to why the general public removed his party (NDC) from power. He needs to go back to the classroom to learn a bit more, just as the general secretary of his party,NDC, Asiedu Nketia.
