New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand and Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central in the Central region Kennedy Ohene Agyepong is claiming that civil servants lead the chart when it comes to corruption in the country.
He believes the civil servants are more corrupt than politicians even though there is the growing the perception that politicians are more corrupt.
“Go to most of the prominent settlements and estates in Ghana, most of the houses you see there are for these civil servants yet the politicians are accused of being corrupt”, he alleged.
According to him, the leakages in the system through corruption are the factors affecting the development of the country which the first president never envisaged.
“It is not only NPP or NDC……Kwame Nkrumah did not expect this magnitude of corruption in the country we are witnessing today. We must all work towards cleansing the system”, he advised.
The outspoken politician believes that civil servants in connivance with some politicians are ripping off the nation diverting state funds into personal accounts which must be stopped if the grow yearns to grow.
To this end he declared his resolve to serve the country and promised to expose persons including members of his party who will engage in fishy deals.
“I am going to serve my country and those who think they can come and blow cash, I will crash them.
The NPP is not perfect and cannot deliver the promises in one year. There will be mistakes in the NPP but we will correct those mistakes”, he emphasized.

I want you him to clearly define who are Civil Servant.A times he talk too much he should point out and stop the unnecessary accusations.
Massa;what you must know is that the mere acquisition of paper qualifications does not mean you are immune from stilling and corrupt activities in Ghana including the DIRTY CIVIL SERVICE TODAY besides the mere aquisistion of these string of qualifications is a means to fill your stomach and still from Ghanaians; WHAT A JOKE to tell Ghanaians that Civil Servants work late to get IMF deals ; DO YOU THINK GHANAIANS ARE STOOOOOOOPID !!!!!!and educated illitetrates like Civil Servant who go to schoo CHEW; POUR ;PASS AND FORGET :!!!!!but CANNOT DELIVER !!!! where is the wealth creation creativity in the civil service today ; you are rather to create debt through the IMF for your country and you are PROUD and think you are helping Ghanaians because these educated illiterate politicians cannot creatively think to create wealth; there is this gross misunderstanding and mis conception that by dealing and borrowing with foreign banks and the IMF and the World Bank then you iditic civil servants are creating wealth ; civil servants by working hard means they find dubious means to guide politicians to inflate prices of contracts and then share the over priced proceeds in dormant accounts ; to me Ken Agyepong have identifed the master manipulators of FRAUD in the governance of Ghana today and IT IS THE CIVIL SERVICE ; for me the NPP should use their expertise and build up a 'mini' civil service at flagstaff house and just sideline these civil servants because they are KROOKS and ULESS until the economy and administrative systems are reset again !!!!!!; the Directors at the Civil Service are not creative and competent ; they sit in air-conditions all day and do nothing ; you have engineeers who should be in field applying themselves to their vocation ; but rather ride in 4 wheel drives in town ; then you have civil servant thiffss and bandits like you who wait all months for the government to decide on loan applications and then ***barred word*** like run around like headless chickens thinking they are are doing to a great job for Ghana -BUll >>>>>>S !!!!!! ; go to the biggest of the biggest merchants banks in the US Goldman Sach and you shall not find anybody with such long string of qualifications but the people working there are creative and make the bank profitable ; the CIVIL SERVICE in Ghana make Ghana BANKRUPT and should be sidelined or perhaps sent on farms to produce food because they are all KROOKS !!!!!!just usiing their long qualification for feel the stomachs !!!!in the civil service .
my hope in this government will swell when i see serious efforts to address corruption in public service, police and the society - begin by changing the educational system and start serious indoctrination of the kids. When the kids learn to be honest in every aspect of life including cheating in exams then they will grow with it. it shld be a relentless effort, stop rif-rafs teaching at the kindergatern, only highly educated people shld handle the tender kids - but alas how can you make the fruit good when the tree itself is rotten?? lets think
Stop bashing us. We are human beings. We also pay taxes and have struggled to get to where we are. Some us civil servants stay late to work just to ensure that government get IMF deal etc. In the end they say we are corrupt. Be fair to us.
The Private Sector of Ghana which form the bulk of Ghana's labor force by far must rise to the corruption in the public/civil service who are also the same people paid with the tax payers' monies.
HON. KENNEDY AGYEPONG IS ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON. HE ADMITS CORRUPTION AMONG POLITICIANS AND GOES FURTHER TO UNEARTH THE DEPTH OF THE CANKER IN GHANA. IT IS IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE - THE POLICE, JUDICIARY, TEACHERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, GHANA CUSTOMS, ETC - IN SHORT ALL THOSE PAID WITH TAX PAYERS MONIES, WHERE YOU FIND THE MOST CORRUPT PEOPLE WHO ALSO OFFER POOR SERVICES. PLEASE COMPARE THE ATTITUDE YOU FIND IN THE PRIVATE COMPANIES AND TELL ME WHICH PRIVATE COMPANY OPENS ITSELF UP TO WASTE AND POOR SERVICE. THE 700,000 OR SO PEOPLE WHO MAKE THE PUBLIC/CIVIL SERVICE AND THEIR POLITICAL LEADERS ARE THE BANE OF GHANA'S DEVELOPMENT WHO BRING THEM THE REST OF THE 26.3 MILLION PEOPLE AND WE OF THE THE PRIVATE SECTOR MUST RISE UP NOW.
Very Interesting! We indeed live in a 'funny' world. How tables can quickly turn. Now "We must all work towards cleansing the system”. Hhhhmmm, only God can save us ampa! For sure I agree with Hon. 100%. Meanwhile, as we cleanse the system, I wish 'loud-mouthed' politicians like him could help us by standing by such words at all times regardless of their political situation. Just imagine how powerful these comments from Hon. Agyepong of all politicians could be during his time in opposition. Unfortunately, we hardly get such opportunities to join efforts in fighting corruption.
Massa ; Ken Agyepong is too BIG AND TOO SMART FOR THESE KRIMINAL BUREAUCRATIC THIFFS ; the man has knocked the nail on the head and to me has identified the real culrits in the fight against the stilling machine in Ghana ;to me the man has done his home work well and have identified a clear case in which properties and assets are the smoking gun of these stiller civil servants because if you examine the high value proerties in the east legon area and parts of Ridge ;cantoments and parts of Osu Nyanibi estate and other places you will realise that a large percentage of these properties are own by these big civil servants ; they never live in these desireable properties but live in lesser disareable areas which does not attract any attention by the people but what they do is rent these houses in dollars to foreign companies and embasis and collect their rents in dollars ; they live rather well but pretend to be poor and with the masses ; they collude with politicians to inflate prices of contracts and take a share of the proceeeds ; Ken Agyepong is CORRRECT the unseen jihadis hands against the people Ghana in this business of corrution stilling are like a civil service mafia gangsters; take the case of of Road sector ministry all the big in that in that ministry have hugh house through receiving contracts fees from politicians and contractors ; Ken Agyepong should recommened to Nana Addo that the ministry of finance should do a a comprehensive re-listing of all properties ; these high value areas and compile another list of propertiy rates again and find out who are the owners of these properties ; I am sure it may turn out that these properties belong to these high grade civil servants who perpetuate serious stilling ; the NPP for next 4 years should go all out to to monitor these thiffs and bring them back to book ; pay the proper tax rates or your property otherwise they will be seized whether you are NPP or NDC or any other citizen besides sometimes people do not understand the motive behind Nana Addos strategy of appointing these extra minister to help monitor these civil servants because they are the cause of today's Ghana's failure -BRAVO KEN AGYEPONG !!!!!!!; you may not like the man but the man makes a lot of sense and loves mother Ghana and will die for MOTHER GHANA by exposing these cococroach civil servants who are the nation wreckers and hide behind politicians !!!!!!!GOD BLESS YOU !!!!!!
I agree with you Hon.without any shadow of doubt. To go GRA,GIPC,PPA and will understand him well
Understand the honourable mp, the politician is only there for 4 years whereas some of these civil servants have been using their positions for corrupt gains for over 15 years and counting. I believe the fight against corruption must start with the civil service. Well said honourable.
