Former National Organizer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan says comments such as “I love President Mills...I worked for President Mahama; leadership rotates” and “we must bring Mahama back at all cost” by some party executives ahead of Prof. Botchwey’s committee findings gingered others to also chip in their bit on NDC’s defeat.
It can be recalled that the NDC’s Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho after his party set up Prof. Kwesi Botchwey’s Committee to find out the cause of the NDC’s defeat in the 2016 elections sat on GhOne TV with Nana Aba Anamoah to talk of his relationship with former President Mahama whiles the Committee has still not concluded its work.
When the host of ‘State of Affairs’ on GhOne TV, Nana Aba Anamoah asked the NDC Deputy Chief Scribe Koku Anyidoho “do you regret serving the party under President Mahama?”, he answered saying “the party? Oh! I love the party”.
Nana Aba Anamoah again enquired three times continuously “do you love President Mahama?” but Koku responded severally that “I worked for him”, stressing that “leadership rotates; leadership will rotate”.
When Koku Anyidoho was asked for the fourth time whether he loves President Mahama he said “I loved President Mills...I will never regret working for him; roll back the clock 1 million years, President Mills I salute you in your grave. Nobody will take that thing away from me.”
Commenting on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Yaw Boateng Gyan, who stopped short of any name-calling “if some of our national executives have kept quiet and allow Prof. Kwesi Botchwey’s Committee to finish their work, all these public outbursts from party members would not have come out.”
He added that the bickering and the blame game in the party started when a national executive was seen on TV describing the kind of relationship existing between him and former President John Mahama.
“The next day, Kofi Adams too is saying we must bring back President Mahama at all cost; this behaviour made others to say that the former President is incompetent. So why can’t we wait for the Committee to submit its report then we can know the cause of our defeat and find an antidote to deal with the problem?” he quizzed.
He however described as sad the kind of defeat the NDC and President Mahama suffered despite the fact that President Mahama has worked hard and achieved a lot as a young leader.
“...that is why the national executives thought it wise to set up this Committee to investigate the cause of defeat in the 2016 elections. The Committee has not come up with the report but some people are saying John is incompetent and others are saying without him NDC will lose the 2020 elections; these comments can further deepen the cracks in the party,” he opined.
He further lamented that there is no spirit of volunteerism in the NDC among the youth as they never carried out any assignment without demanding for money before they do it.
“If we are not able to encourage the youth to adopt the spirit of volunteerism in the party, the party will remain as it is and so all of us must be quiet and allow the Committee to work and come up with the solution, then we can find it easy to unite again,” he added.

Those two should be mercilessly booted out of the party. No need carrying dead weight with us.
GRAVITY!
how can you talk about volunteerism when some people who have never worked before after graduation from the university are riding in v8 cars and also akua donkor given 2 cars and a house for no work done
For any political party in the world losing an election is rather painful ; the trouble is that people see the blame from inside the party and assign the blame to incompetence of some party member ; the situation with the NDC party is rather unique because the party have never had any proper foudation ; the elders of the core party are made up of tribalist ex-soldiers and and educated illiterate tribalist people who used the NDc party to display utter incompetence ; for them shouting and insulting elders in society with little experience in governance was the order of the day ; for them tribal radicalism was what will save Ghana and the worse part was leader Jon Mahama the worse incompetent leader Ghana has ever seen ; dragging his foot to retrieve woyome's cash; awarding dubious contracts for irrelevant bus painting ; building shoody projects like the circle inter in Acrra whilst many young people were unemployed ; giving cars our to people like Jon Dumelo and Akua Donkor; the worse was when Jon Mahama for some odd reasons pardoned the 'Montie 3';a complete slap in the face of our judges ; whilst at the same time an idiotic fulls like Kofi Adams ; Koku and Asiedu Nketia were put in charge to campaign ; these EWE thiffs saw the opportunity to diverty the funds from the grass roots and staff the very people who will do the ground work for the NDC the list goes on ; today the nDc is split down the line with the EWE Group including Kofi Adamas and Koku advocating for the return of this incompetent northner full Jon Mahama ; the trouble is that Asiedu Nketia and the same group decided that Jon Mahama should stand without any challenge ; today history is repeating itself ; they want Jon Mahama to come back again because Jon Mahanma cannot control them from the centre ; how can Kofi Adams within short period manage to buy 5 luxury cars ; besides Amissah Arthur was a complete waste of time because he was saw dust material and could not do his job as a economist ; Look at the way Dr Bawumia took charge of the economic issues for the NPP ; to me the Ghanaian voter saw the the NDC as a BOGUIS party all full of deceit and lies ; a a voluntary group of ill minded losers who could not do anything to create wealth for Ghana and voted them out -PERIOD !!!!; the same will befall Nana Addo if he does not deliver ; today it is our water; unemployment ; retriving woyomes cash and other fraudulent deals which are problems facing Ghanaians today ; if Nana Addo does not STOP GALAMASEY or fails to collect or solve the unemployment situation : then NPP should KISS goodbye to the 2020 election.
I don't know why NDC members are pointing fingers at each other for the defeat. Even the committee setup, at the first place is not necessary . None of the NDC members did anything wrong neither the formal president Mahama did anything wrong that brought about the defeat. The cost of the election defeat was simple. Ghanaians feel the eight years giving to NDC was enough and there was the need to pass on mantle to another party. Is simple as that. Even those people been accused of not doing what they were suppose to do, even if they were to do exactly is been said, NDC would have still lost the election. Ordinary Ghanaian feel you rule for eight years and is enough for another party to also come in. Stop the blame game and put your heads together. Four years is just at the corner. Four years ago by this time Nana Addo and NPP were doing same blaming each other for defeat today he is the president. Enough of the blame game.
