Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako says former President John Dramani Mahama cannot be the only person behind the defeat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections.
According to him, "the conduct of some campaigners and key people who were put in positions of trust" also contributed to the 'abysmal' performance of the NDC in the 2016 December polls.
Earlier this week, Mr Mahama took responsibility for the NDC's defeat.
At a meeting with former appointees of government, the former President said all grievances should be directed at him because he led the party in the elections.
“Of course as the general who led us into battle, I take ultimate responsibility for our losing the election and so if it will satisfy those people, blame me for the loss,” he said.
However, Kweku Baako, contributing to a panel discussion on Joy FM's newsfile, Saturday said the former President cannot shoulder the blame alone for NDC's defeat.
“He [Mahama] has accepted ultimate responsibility for what happened and that’s leadership...it’s good if a leader comes out to say I take ultimate responsibility, but there is the element of collective responsibility. The conduct of some of the campaigners, the key people who were put in positions of trust all contributed to the abysmal outcome of their performance. That is obvious.” he noted.

Honestly speaking, I cannot thank God well enough for the defeat of the NDC at the 2016 general elections. The arrogance of their leader, Mr. Mahama and his team was just sickening.Besides naked corruption in government was mind blowing.Talk about the award of contracts that were fraught with kick backs! They never had an iota of love for the country. I pray to God that the likes of such people never come any where near power.
blame must squarely be put on mahamas head. he dance yenyie obiaa with asantehene when Ghanaians were complaining about corruption that he himself was a kinpin in his incompetent administration. where did his wife got money to buy and distribute the thousands of outboard motors, sewing machines, headpans, garments, millions of party t-shirts, motor bikes...ect. all free of charge. mahama is a ***barred word***, Ibrahim is a criminal
And who put those people in the position of trust - same Mahama. A coach accepts responsibility for losing a match and you say the players must be blamed. We all know Mahama took very good care of Kwaku Baako and co and so he can never criticize him even if its for his own good
