The former serial phone-in contributor, Yaw Nketia popularly known as Dr. Asemfofro has died. He is reported to have passed at the 37 Military hospital on Easter Sunday dawn after a short ailment.
Dr. Asemfofro’s elder’s son, Ampem Nketia confirmed this to Adom News.
He indicated that, his father was rushed to the hospital on Good Friday but gave up the ghost this dawn.
He was 52-years-old.Politically, Dr. Asemfofro did not hide his support for the NDC as was active on several campaign platforms to garner votes for the party.
He shot to fame when he challenged former President John Agyekum Kufuor to swear by dreaded Ashanti deity, Antoa Nyama if indeed he has not engaged in any corrupt acts.
The herbal doctor was carried shoulder-high, following the role he played in the demonstrations against the Representation of the People’s Amendment Law (ROPAL) and also stated a one-man demonstration in protest as what he termed the crippling socio-economic conditions under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.
But, Dr. Asemfofro, however, fell out with the NDC saying the party he so much loved and had sacrificed his money, energy and time for, had treated him like a leper, virtually dumping him and leaving him to his fate.
Until his death, he declared his support for the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) and also supported the free SHS policy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The late Dr. Asemfofro left behind 13 children and two wives.

ASEMFOFRO HAS BEEN SACRIFICED BY NDC. NEXT TIME HE WOULD NOT TALK LIKE A ***barred word*** CURSING PRESIDENTS AND ELDERS. MAY HE REST IN PEACE. HOLD ASIEDU NKETSIA RESPONSIBLE
I know Yaw Nketia very well. His first wife Akos from Oyoko-Koforidua and my mother stayed in the same compund house in the 90s. He was politically inclined and showed so much interest in it. I remember him saying that non of his children will ever study agriculture but politics. He also said it is better to be closer to politicians. To some level, he achieved this by his association with the NDC. May his soul rest in peace. Death is close so people, it is time to reset all broken relationships. One will be alive today but could kick the bucket in the next few minutes.
The last time I watched his debate between him n kumchacha I said to myself he looks very weak n looking sick. He is very truthful n always on point.he is very funny man n I see him as a hero.may his gentle soul rest in peace
May his soul rest in the bosom of the almighty God
Lessons to the NPP leadership.
You fought a good fight, man. Most of ndc faithful supporters suffered similar fate after election 2008. Atta mills and mahama government became the property of gridy bastars, family and friends and arrogant small boys with sharp teeth. That is how the ndc has turned into. No more the party for the downtrodden but ibrahim mahama, woyome, dzifa attivor, opuni and others who were not known in the party. The death of Dr. must be a wake up call and the grassroots must rise up against the bad elements. Rest In Peace.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
