Former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Inusah Fuseini has apologised unreservedly for planting an audiovisual monitoring device in his former office even though he claimed it was not active.
Inusah Fuseini admitted he erred by not informing the current minister, John Peter Amewu about the planted device because he had totally forgotten about it.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show dubbed ‘Ghana Montie’ Mr. Fuseini said, “I thought to all intents and purposes that it was a white elephant and had nothing to do with monitoring my successor.”
“I am really sorry about that. I will officially apologize to the Minister for the mishap,” he added.
The Lands and Natural Resources Minister, John Peter Amewu’s office was bugged - the set-up included a camera, a storage unit and another device suspected to be a transmitter.
Inusah Fuseini owned up for bugging the office after claming that an expert advised him to install the device for his own personal security could not finish the installation process to transmit any information.
“That was my personal property . . . it is for me; it was a gift but it was not installed and so it was not working . . . ," he said during an earlier interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' Tuesday.
Background
Alhaji Inusah Fuseini claimed ownership of the audiovisual recording device retrieved from the office of the current Minister, John Peter Amewu.
The device was discovered in the office of the Minister on Monday.
It was retrieved by the National Security after they embarked on a routine screening exercise at the Ministry.
But the Public Relations Officer [PRO] at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has told NEAT FM’s morning show host Kwesi Aboagye that, a native of Israel detected the audiovisual recording device believed to have been secretly planted in the office of the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, John Peter Amewu.
According to Mr. Abraham Otabil, the Israeli [Name withheld] was at the Minister’s office to discuss security issues with him after he had raised concerns of threats on his fight against illegal mining, popularly known as ‘Galamsey’.

LIKE SEFA KAI'S STATEMENT THAT NPP SHOULD NOT SHADE ADWOA SAFOA. THEY DID NOT MADE PROVISION FOR COMMENTS FOR US TO MADE THEIR MIND WHY? HE IS LIKEKWASI PRATT. YHEY THINK THEY ARE THE VWISEST. SEFA SHOULD NOT MAKE AS IF HE KNOWS EVERYTHING.REMEMBER YOU ARE ON PAYROLL OF DESPITE DONT MAKE LIKE YOU ARE SOMEBODY YOU ARE NOT.
WHAT IS HONESTY AND GOOD ABOUT THIS FUSENI MAN THAT YOU ARE PRAISING.HE IS A TRASH WAIST AND ONZENSIBLE. HE NEED TO FACE THE LAW.
ANAS AREMEYAW ANAS COULD BE BEHIND THIS WHOLE SAGA. LET ME EXPLAIN IN DETAILS:what Inusah Fuseini is saying doesnt make complete sense to me. we are not kids. it could be that it was ANAS' idea that the thing was planted there but because it has backfired he is using INUSAH FUSEINI AS A PAWN. we all know anas is yet to release his GALAMSEY VIDEO which kweku baako hinted. Anas' way of investigation is bad and it must be condemned.he selects his victims. why doesnt he do the same to his family and brng them out for public ridicule? you take money and use it to lure judges and wen they fall into the trap they are disgraced whiles you are walking free?? ohh comeon Ghanaians lets call a spade a spade. the guy is bias. if its his wife, child, mother, father ?will he do that? MIND U BOTH THE GIVER AND THE TAKER ARE CORRUPT. YOU CANT SANCTION ONE AND ALLOW THE OTHER TO GO SCOT FREE!!! THAT IS SELECTIVE JUSTICE.
I find it some what laughable not surprise about the NPP and its' media intention to propagate and make "mountain out of a mole hill" with this issue. On the other hand i am surprise that some members of the NDC would "Pounce and tear" their own (Inusah Fuseini) without seeking to either consider the explanations of Inusah Fuseini or understand how such device's work (technology). In as much as the former Minister (Inusah Fuseini) has apologized, i believe he could have done that is a context without another reading endless meanings to his apology and this issue. The device being discuss, is a micro camera with a USB cable connected to an integrated system unit with a screen (like an android phone). This means, it is a device which source of power can not be sustained for a long period (thus renewable). Therefore, the allegation by the NPP and its' cronies that the camera could be transmitting its' feed to an external system unit sited in Inusah Fuseini's house far more ridiculous and untruth than their promise of FREE SHS. Secondly, the former Minister is right when he says, the device does not work. I doubt if there is any micro battery in use that can still be active for two years , three months without being charged. It is possible to detect a hidden camera if it is not active. It was however wrong planting the camera behind the national coat of arms.

Dirty criminal. This ***barred word*** should sitt in för at least 20 years, any way Ghana is a failed state so he is going to go free.Shame on you, evil minded person.
"It was not installed and it was not working...". What did you say, Alhaji? Come again. The most difficult part of the task was done. You succeeded in hiding the secret device in the coat of arms. The little knowledge that I have in IT is that the activation could take just some few minutes. Now we hear some NDC gurus condemming his actions. That is good for our democracy. I can't imagine the number of press conferences that we would have experienced by now if it were an NPP member who did that against the NDC.
Honesty in deceit?
What about your successor Nii Osa Mills, doesn't he deserve your humble apology or he was your target. No.nsense boy!!!!
And he think we are those ndc foolsoldiers that voted for him at his constituency.
