Deputy Information Minister and Member of Parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency has asked Ghanaians not to pay attention to the minority in Parliament because they are ‘deliberately’ trying to destroy the works of the Finance Minister.
The minority led by its leader, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu at a press conference, Tuesday questioned government’s approval of a credit facility of GHc10,459,500 from the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) for McDan Shipping Company.
They believe the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, usurped the authority and functions of the ADB’s Board of Directors to award the credit facility.
Speaking to Kwami Sefa-Kayi in an interview on Wednesday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo’, Kojo Oppong–Nkrumah said the minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) intentionally brings up various issues just to create attention.
“It’s a pattern; they are deliberately doing this . . . It’s just a strategy they are using; they bring up one issue, talk about it; leave it and go for another one . . . we should not politicise every issue. The minority should stop destroying the works of the Finance Minister,” he said.

THE MINORITY OF PARLIAMENT, THIS IS NOT WHAT GHANAIANS ARE ESPECTED YOU TO BE BUT RATHER KEEP THE RULLING GOVERNMENT ON HIS TOES. UNNECESSARY CRITICISM WILL RATHER FACILITATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ACCOMPLISH HIS MESSION
kk paaaaa. What kind of analysis is this. In the corporate governance of ADB, there cannot be any room for the minister in the absence of the Board. The proper thing to do was for the minister to respond that the matter be put on hold pending the constitution of the Board. The minority's concern is legitimate.
Government of Ghana - 32.30% Belstar Capital Limited- 24%, Starmount Development Company Limited - 11% SIC Financial Services-10% Bank of Ghana - 9.50% EDC Investment Limited - 6% Retail investors and ADB staff - 7.20%. MINORITY IS INDEED CONFUSED.GHANAIANS SHOULD CHECK THE WEBSITE OF ADB. GHANAIANS WOULD SEE THAT THE GOVERNMENT IS SIGNIFICANT SHAREHOLDER OF ADB. SO THERE IS ABSOLUTE NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FINANCE MINISTER LETTER.THE NDC IS CONFUSED.
eehhh Oppong Checheku, so as your government nobody should question its actions eh? ooo kk
Minority led by confused Haruna Iddrisu is ***barred word***, semi illiterate and embarrassment to the extent that they hold press conference to display their ineptitude before they understand the issue. What's a sad bunch of hogs. They think this strategy will frustrate the gov't;foolishness will soon catch them up.I challenge them to speak on SSNIT rot.
I can't understand why npp doesn't want to be examined. You came to power on the heels of ndc corruption allegations, so if you are being judged in the same measure why should you be worried. What time he minority is doing now is not different from what npp did in opposition, in fact, npp did even worst. They made songs with woyome and smartty so keep quite and tolerate criticisms. If you are not wrong, prove it by your actions not your talk. Any one can talks, action is what we want to see.
Do you think Ghanaians including the minority are going to sit down for you to come and loot the state, no way. As long as the minority raise any legitimate questions those of us who do not even sympathize with their ideals would support them. What is the essence of the President saying in his inaugural speech that Ghanaians should not be spectators but citizens if his appointees would not be scrutinized. Even you oppong nkrumah, is alleged to be engaging in some dubious contracts. You should repent before you are exposed.
The Minority are still illiterate and refuses to read and understand before making any common sense comments. 1. McDan Applies for a loan to execute a contract . 2. The bank write a letter to the finance minister stating that the amount been requested by their customer is beyond the limit they can give unless the board agrees. 3.In the absence of the board, the minister is next in command to issue directives. 4. he instruct that they should go ahead if the proper procedure has been followed BUT must present it to the board one's it is in place. 5. The board is instituted and the matter presented to the board. What is the interest of the finance minister in this. No wonder you can't read and when u do u don't understand because your mind is filled with dubious tactics and very soon those leading such ***barred word*** tactics will be irrelevant in the eyes of Ghanaians.
Government should simply focus on its work and ignore this congregation of all that is evil in Ghanaian politics.Ghanaians are not ***barred word*** and if they see their lives changing for the better nobody will take any notice of these nation wreckers.
They are getting bolder by the day because the government has not got the guts to prosecute and deal with corrupt NDC officials. You sit there and do textbook politics, they will outwit you with the noises you are complaining of.
