President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has informed the Ghana Police Service that he is not interested in the matter that led to the arrest of Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium.
He is therefore not pressing charges against him (Appiah Stadium).
Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Minister for Information in a statement indicated that the president has consequently asked the police administration to “be accordingly advised”.
The Ashanti Regional Police command on Tuesday arrested Appiah stadium upon instruction from the National Headquarters for claiming that the President of the country smokes wee (marijuana).
Appiah Stadium was subsequently handcuffed and transported to the Headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Accra to answer questions concerning his claims.
According to the statement from the Information minister, Appiah Stadium who has been granted bail "is merely reciting from an NDC propaganda book, which has since been discredited”.

People of Ghana let's be very very careful how we handle some of these issues. When we make some people think that they are more important than some, it's called inequality and it's very dangerous for an African Democracy. We have heard in this country when people in the NPP insult former Presidents of this country and nothing is done to them. How come now That the table has turned and some people are also talking and they are being arrested as criminals. Insulting our leaders is absolutely wrong and should never be encouraged. But let's make sure that we are fair in dealing with this issues. I think Akufo Addo who we all say is a champion of Democracy should ride above this. A thing like this should never have happened understand the leadership of Akufo Addo., It's very unfortunate. Arrogance is what will bring this NPP government down let's be careful or else the silence majority will punish the NPP in 2020 if care is not taken, this free first year JHS is not enough to keep this government in power.. let the NPP party let us understand that power is not permanent. Let's tread cautiously.
It is a healthy mark of refined growth to stay and remain unflappable by malicious evil accusations.Let the devil keep its own company where it belongs.Frank Appiah Stadium and Dr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah need to keep their gentlemanly good breeding to themselves. let them keep themselves well for what they are.
I THINK THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE FURTHER BECAUSE ONE CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE INTEREST OF SUCH ACT SOME OF OUR SECURITY AGENCIES MUST BE QUESTION AND GIVING APPROPRIATE SANCTIONS OF THEIR ACTIONS THIS IS THE TIME WE WERE SINGING SO MANY GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE EIGHT MONTHS OLD GOVERNMENT OF H.E NANA ADDO AND SOME UNSCRUPULOUS PEOPLE HAVE JUST CRASHED IT DOWN WITH APPIAH STADIUM ISSUE. I AM ANGRY AT THE POLICE. HOW?
LATE PRESIDENT ATTA MILLS DID A SIMILAR THING.
Back fire. Running away. How can you arrest somebody just for expressing his view. This is how democracy is run. You can't arrest people for expression of view. If you don't like it go to Afghanistan. Simple.
President, well done. That is the way to go. Appiah Staduim should learn.....where is Dr. Asemfoforo now?
