Audio Attachment:Murtala Mohammed on NDC |
Murtala Mohammed, former Member of Parliament for Nantong constituency has bemoaned the lackadaisical attitude of member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as far as putting the ruling government in check.
He said instead of the opposition NDC criticising the ‘mess being created’ by the Akufo-Addo led government, ‘it is preoccupied with who becomes the next flagbearer’, adding “the earlier we realise that we have a moral duty to salvage this country the better”.
“The sad aspect about the NDC is that instead of us looking at the mess that is being created in this country, we preoccupy ourselves as to who becomes the next flagbearer…when an NPP member has a problem they defend before they find out what he has done; in NDC you find people who would want to moralise…and it was one of the reasons why we lost the election…the earlier we start calling a spade a spade the better” he added.
Reflecting on the party’s defeat in the 2016 elections, Murtala who was the former Deputy Trade Minister said had the NDC not become complacent, the NPP would not have come to power.
Speaking during a panel discussion on Radio Gold's Alhaji and Alhaji, Murtala Mohammed said: “…some of us became so arrogant that we felt President Mahama was so popular that the NDC will win and therefore we don’t need the support of anybody; you see where we are? We never lost the elections, we gave it out…”

this guys comment makes me believe that ndc has never won any elections in this country. all they know how to do is to rig the elections and it backed fired in 2016. how can u say u gave the elections out? as far as i know power belongs to the people and they decides who to give that power to. so if u claim u gave the power out then u stole the previous powers u had. u know u can be prosecuted for that. cr1m1inals. dont get urself some work to do and continue barking like mad dogs.
SIMPLY GO BACK FOR IT.
If fact being jobless is a disease. If you are part of the team who handed over power to the NPP, feel free and take it back.
Just some few months back this erratic character called Mutala was angrily fighting his own colleagues and calling them names..."ill-gotten wealth, etc.". Today, the one he was fighting is still in parliament and he is barking profusely in opposition and without a job. He has three years and months more to bark. Get him some strepsils!
You NDC people forgot that the power belongs to the people. You thought by having the opportunity to amass wealth, you could easily buy the elections. Even the EC chair was playing to this agenda until she was overtaken by events. The people gave you the power, and they felt you were not handling it well enough so they took it and gave to another person. So why is it paining you so guys so much? You were not there on merit! It was simply given to you, so why keep on crying as if it was your bonafide property?
After eight months of disgraceful defeat, with the 500page book presented to the party this dude called Mutala still don't know why the party suffered this disgraceful, humiliating defeat? Well I advice they contact the oracles or for quicker answers they can contact Komfo or Bosom.
The battle is still "THE LORD's". NDC will NEVER understand and to KNOW their cause for the HEAVY loss, NEVER in the Whole World sitting Government or Opposition has won with this 2 Million Votes before. THE BATTLE IS STILL THE LORD's.
THIS WHATEVER SO-CALLED FORMER MP IS JUST AN ATTENTION SEEKER. LET HIM ***barred word*** HIMSELF!!
Masa, if you have nothing to say, just keep quiet. NDC lost massively such that they were in a comfortable loss!
It is true that NDC are being gentle to npp, meanwhile npp are stealing fron every angle.
