President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has rubbished the physical projects touted as achievements by the erstwhile John Mahama Administration, saying Ghanaians’ outcry about the awful conditions of their roads everywhere he goes today drops more questions than answers.
“I remember during the election that my opponent kept saying that in his time our country had witnessed unprecedented infrastructural development. When I said I didn’t see it, he said that I was asleep in the car and that was why I didn’t see these good roads.
“But yet everywhere I go, everywhere I go, the first thing people ask me is about their roads. So, this unprecedented infrastructural development – it cannot have been about roads; it must be something else, but certainly not about roads because you yourselves have pointed out how very poor the [road] network is,” he said.
The President was addressing a durbar of paramount chiefs and queens on Wednesday in Bolgatanga to begin his two-day tour of the Upper East Region.
He said “but we are going to work on it. We are going to work on it because we are going to ensure that all the money that is mobilised by the government is spent to deal with the issues that concern our people and they don’t find their way into my pocket or the pockets of my ministers. We are not going to allow that to happen in this country again.”
The President also spoke of the collapse of Ghana’s railway network as one of the “saddest and egregious decisions” the country had ever taken.
He said with emphasis that his government would restore the railway linkage across the country in no time to boost its economy.

Our Jesus of a president (i.e our Ghana's saviour) just speaks the Gospel truth, and the Creat, Loot & Share Company see themselves already burning in hell.... AMEN!
It's so pathetic to hear our president talk this way. Did the npp not also bring projects former president did in his eight year rule? Did that solve all our infrastructural issues and there were still gaps to be filled? Did the NDC not do more in this regard, and did Ghanaians, and especially the npp, ask if we were going to "eat" those roads? So of the president comes and makes these noise as though he's nothing to work on or he's in to change the infrastructural frontiers of the states,it's just a no-no. He must focus on the economy, solve the escalating fuel prices by the times, reduce electricity tariffs as promised us during the campaign, create the numerous jobs (though we're currently witnessing a drop in in the already few employment points that exist in the country - GCB takeovers) promised Ghanaians. If he's sleeping,he should put his ears on the ground and hell know the current state of the economy.
Apology of a President. So our leaders cannot be role models for our children? What does this man mean? Will you want to be treated the way you are going round villifying Mahama? Will you want it be said that you did nothing in your term? I am ashamed to have somebody who does not speak the truth as President. It is only failures who will always want to paint someone black to enable them look white
MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOU NANA ADDO, YOUR DANQUAH BUSIA PEOPLE DID WORSE THINGS TO NKRUMAH BUT TODAY WE ARE CELEBRATING HIM. JM WILL SURELY BE BACK SO DONT WORRY YOURSELF, WORRY ABOUT YOUR NPP
Mr. president, Mahama did some but did not do all, the fact that you traveled on some bad roads doesnt mean ex president mahama did not construct the roads he was talking about, Please stop talking and act, fixed those roads you said were not done by the ex president, stop lamenting, we have handed over power to you, fix the problems and stop telling us your intent. Mr president, fix it, we are tired of your daily rhetorics.
To sum it all, Nana Addo is simply a "wash-out, a non-political entity, a complete failure, a disaster and the face of corruption in Ghana today.
