The Minority Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs in Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has lambasted the NPP administration after it proposed a reduction in electricity tariffs.
Delivering the 2018 ‘Adwuma’ Budget in Parliament on Wednesday, the Finance Minister Mr Ken Ofori-Atta disclosed the electricity tariffs will be reduced by 13 per cent for consumers in 2018.
But Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa, after the minister’s delivery insisted there is no need for such reduction if fuel prices are shooting up in the country.
According to him, he couldn’t fathom how the respective 13 per cent reduction of electricity tariffs will materialize in the lives of the citizenry with the budget respectively.
“If Petrol prices are going up and the power prices are going down, then we won’t feel it. How does the 13 per cent materialize? Talking to the spare parts dealers they don’t feel it. This government is good with slogans…” he maintained.
He added that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration hasn’t achieved most of their 2016 manifesto promises they promised Ghanaians.
“We haven’t seen the factories. The 1 million dollar hasn’t been sent to various constituencies. Unemployment is a major issue. We want to see an action program that will not repeat itself. The finance minister is not living in Ghana with us. Dumsor hasn’t been solved…” he cried.

Ablakwah and his friends are destroying the ndc party. I believe a party is about numbers and whereby crop of people in a paricular party are disliked by society they must know they are putting the party into trouble and must stay back stage. These guys in the ndc with sharp teeth are dislike by the society and i'm surprised they dont care but continue to annoy the people especially the youth who make the majority of voters and they are like we don't care what they say because they are NPP how did you know? ost Ghanaians don't like you and you are hurting the growth of the party because it doesn't seem attractive to the society because of your manners and actions, what will happen to you if you keep quiet? If i were those guys i would have relegated myself to the back stage for the sake of the party6
Folks have you ever seen a picture of Ablakwa when he was in school? Buck teeth et all?I swear the man was then an old man,. Indeed he was old before he became young.Nobody in the NDC it seems has any resemblance of common sense.
sttuuuppid NDC Eddiot
Is this guy serious. Reduction of electricity will benefit the poor than the reduction of patrol. The reduction welcome. Ghanaians ignore people with dental disarrangement. They are diabolic, pathological liars.
This guy is just disgracing we the Ewes. Allow the people to do their plans. What is your problem? One after the other. You were give so many years what did we see? Dokuitor dzilawo. Is it not better than non? Gbeme la.
Muntaka says dumsor was solved by NDC before NPP came to power. Ablakwa is saying that domsor is still with us. How many times did fuel prices go up during the NDC time in government? Countless. How many times did NDC reduce electricity tariffs? ZERO!!! So what is this sharp teeth (literally, but now fixed by a dentist) talking about? These people are dazed by the sheer alacrity with which this competent group are solving Ghana's problems. NDC, I believed is capable of raising a new crop of leaders who can offer constructive criticism and proffer alternative solutions just like Bawumia use to do for Ghana to take them serious than a bunch of jokers parading themselves as MPs and National executives.
so unemployment has suddenly become a major issue ?? or it was an issue during your tenure ??...and what did you do about it in 8 years ?? sometimes it wiser to shut your mouth than spew nonsen.se
Is this not the same Ablakwa who told us he and attah-Mills had created 1 million ghost jobs?
This man is plain ignoramus. He thinks and eats propaganda. I dont trust anything he says sadly, so his truth is still a poisoned chalice to me. ***barred word*** quibbling....
Does he even understand the meaning of "rip-off"? When did your government reduce anything during the your years? They have no shame.
