Majority Leader of Parliament Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has admonished electorates to vote for competent people to represent them in the legislative House.
The legislator who doubles as the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, said voters should also assess the individual and ensure that they are capable to represent their interest.
The candidate should be learned, knowledgeable, a man of integrity, wise, diligent and above all someone with respect. He said if electorates do not assess the person before voting them into office, they will go to parliament and do nothing.
The MP bemoaned the undue pressure on legislators when voted into office. He said sometimes constituents go to the extent of campaigning against their MPs because they feel the MP did nothing for them when he/she assumed office.
But when one delves into the issue, you will realize that some constituents who make monetary demands from their legislators are those who try to make claims that the MP has done nothing.

This man assumed all-knowing talks everyday. Who the hell does he think he is? The wisest, knowledgeable? Oh no, You entered Parliament with no experience Parliamentary proceedings, laws, etc. and you have been there more than 20year! Any ***barred word***, Tom and Harry would have gotten experience. Do not forget that the new entrants are more knowledgeable than when you, as at the time you were entering Parliament. We now have young guys who hold PhDs entering Parliament, and you think they would not do better in their 20th year? Look at Haruna Iddrisu, Dr Osei Odutwum, Okyem Aboagye, Dr. Nuamah, Dr. Ayiw Afiriyie, just to mention a few. You think comparatively, you are better than them? You cannot dance in your own soup and think you are the best cook. Never disturb us with your selfish talks, as though Parliament cannot work without you, tell this to your primitive constituents of Suame'
