Audio Attachment: Listen to Kweku Baako Jnr. on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' |
Seasoned journalist, Kweku Baako says EC Chairperson Charlotte Osei is not enthused by the “needless noise-making” by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) members trying to defend her.
According to him, the EC Boss respects the due process that she has to go through regarding the impeachment petition against her and her two deputies; Amadu Sulley and Georgina Amankwa.
Kweku Baako said that Mrs. Charlotte Osei will not fall for the “propaganda scare-mongering” and “ugly threats of street militancy” by the NDC under their guise to defend her.
He said in this on Peace FM’s 'Kokrokoo' programme in response to claims by some NDC members that the NPP government is scheming to impeach Charlotte Osei to perhaps replace her with an NPP loyalist.
National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo sent a strong warning to President Nana Akufo-Addo not to orchestrate a plot to remove the EC Boss, Charlotte Osei from office.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo expressed suspicions of President Akufo-Addo and his government's attempt to manipulate the probe into the corruption and abuse of power allegations against Mrs. Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, Amadu Sulley and Georgina Amankwa.
The Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Allotey Jacobs also believed the petition against the EC Boss is a “political conspiracy” by the Akufo-Addo administration to remove her.
But Kweku Baako, speaking to the issue on Wednesday's edition of the programme, cautioned the NDC to stop their “propaganda scare-mongering, ugly threats of street militancy and some imaginative conspiracy theories. Charlotte Osei can do without those things. Indeed the other two Commissioners can also do without those things because the context is due process."
To him, the EC Chair is “focused on the due process, that’s why she’s raising issues with what she perceives as challenges on the due process. Have you heard her on TV and radio complaining about the due process? Rather she’s writing letters to the appropriate institutions. She’s communicating to those institutions or personalities that have been entrusted with responsibility that this, this, this are the difficulties I’m faced with. That resolution of those difficulties or challenges within the context of due process . . . That’s what a disciplined person does.”
He also warned them saying their “noise doesn’t help it in anyway. Indeed, it distracts. It pollutes . . . At least, I can say that for Charlotte Osei. She does not need what is happening. Indeed, she can do without the contamination – the political contamination – that is being brought to bear on the issue.”

Was she not the one who said EC is not state institution? and u call such leader INTELLIGENT? I know she is very Innocent but never intelligent at all. we had peaceful election because NPP was very INTELLIGENT LAST YEAR.
He is absolutely right, Mrs. Osei doesn't need anybody to speak on her behalf. She is intelligent and she can handle her own issues
Don,t be silly, npp arsed-licker Baako, advice your divisive president to stop the witch-hunting
THUMPS UP, KWEKU.
Does he speak for the EC chair now? Who made him her spokesman?
Interesting. Poor and *unintelligent people* pop up and talk about things they do not understand or have authority to defend.
Many Ghanaians from Eastern Region at home and abroad have been wondering what Akufo-Addo has done so far to help Okyehene in his quest to develop an ultra-modern university in Eastern Region. It is sad that Eastern Region hasn't got a university comparable to legon or the best universities in Africa. Many are aware that Okyehene has a compelling plan for the establishment of such a university.
Let all poloticians stay clearly away from this purely administrative and legal process. Are these Commissioners NDC members?
The obvious truth is that the NDC by it's expertise in political propaganda has studied Ghanaians very well for the fearful and peace-loving that we are, and hence always tries to play the intimadation card against Ghanaians to get what they want. But the other truth is that fortunately for us, the ordinary Ghanaian even in 'Tiwuy3krom' (blockheaded township) has now become enlightened about the propaganda gimmicks and schemes of the NDC that they engage in to hold Ghana to ransom. But the NDC must know that Ghana has come of age and that their professional propaganda and bugabuga political antics to bulldoze their way through national issues is obsolete, and therefore must put their acts together and come out with a different strategy that will appeal to the now enlightened Ghanaian electorate. In connection with this Charlotte Osei case I believe the attempt by the NDC to intimidate the judiciary and Ghanaians for that matter, is not akin to their position during the great Atuguba case that was occasioned by their wise advice for the NPP to go to court. Indeed, the NPP and the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo went to court. Yes, the NDC had their way and the historic fact still remains that Ghana; our beloved country which is free forever, in Nkrumah's voice, did not burn. So why does the NDC think Ghana will burn this time over a constitutionally mandated ruling that might disfavor Madam Charlotte Osei. And in any case if it does, the NDC who are the best apostles of the GO TO COURT doctrine would have their own doctrine to adhere to because Ghana; our beloved country which is free forever will not burn.
THEY ARE SIMPLY BLOWING HOT AIR. BLOATED EGO, SELF IMPORTANCE AND EMPTY THREATS.
