Communication Specialist at the Ministry of Energy Nana Damoah has resolved to resign from his post barely 24 hours after the sector minister Boakye Agyarko was dismissed by President Akufo-Addo over a controversially ‘renegotiated’ Ameri deal.
Nana Damoah who was vocal in defending the deal that received total rejection from the ordinary people to energy experts, threatened Monday evening to release emails to ostensibly demonstrate no wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Agyarko or there were others involved in the deal.
Many Ghanaians are already demanding full disclosure on the deal which has reportedly been abandoned, especially circumstances surrounding how the President was allegedly misled into giving an executive approval to the ‘stinking’ deal.
For some people, the dismissed Energy Minister may have acted with others on the deal which was sent to Parliament last month for approval but had to be put aside for the government furnish the House with some critical information.
Moments after Mr. Agyarko was sacked Monday, Nana Damoah wrote on his personal Facebook page: “It’s time for the emails. Let’s play. He is to blame abi? He did it alone right? Ok.”
His post suggested some people may be involved in the deal which the government claimed would have saved the country some 400 million dollars, a claim that later turned out to be false, at least per the fact-checks done by experts in the sector.
Some feared such a post could cost him his job at the Ministry but at exactly 7:27pm Monday, Nana Damoah followed his earlier post with another one, hinting of his resignation.
“It is only right now that I step down. May the good Lord see the rest through,” he said in the second post on Facebook.
As at Tuesday morning, his initial post apparently threatening to release emails to expose the truth in what has come to be known as the Ameri fiasco, had disappeared from his account.

If really Nana Damoah posted this, then he is not a matured individual and a politician. Has he ever seen a contract signed by any minister that was worked on by the sector minister alone? All such contracts and communications goes through Chief Directors, Assistance Chief Directors, Aids and independent consultants employed by such ministries before final approval, but either good or bad. The responsibility falls on the sector MINISTER. That is what we called a RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP. Do you think leaders always read documents before they sign? Else the President will read 30years before retiring as President. Its all over the world but responsibly falls on the one who signs such document. This is the reason, Ministers some times finds ways to fire some technocrats at the ministries when they assume office and put those they can trust in the helm of Affairs. Do you Dr. Bawumia read through all pink sheets before presented them to the court and sit inside that box to defend same? Been able to pay school fees or buy food for family does not mean one is a responsible person, but accepting responsibilities of all under your care. God Save Ghana
Come out with what you know and stop threatening. A ***barred word*** bufoon like you was a communications director??? No wonder this mess has taken place
