Security Analyst, Adam Bonah has described as ‘risky’, the decision by the Presidency to use State Transport Company (STC) buses to convey ministers and government appointees as the President tours the Ashanti Region.
In an interview on Accra- Based Star FM, he cited security reasons as a major concern, saying, “you don’t have to be a security analyst to know there is so much risk to put all ministers and government appointees who are going to be following the President in one vehicle, this is a wrong move”.
He added that STC is the best in transport services, but that notwithstanding, he believes it is not safe.
“But l must say STC is the best in terms of safety in transportation but anything could happen, and so it is wrong. Why won’t they fly to Kumasi and continue with their journey instead of going with STC?”- Mr. Bonah quizzed.
Touching on how to solve the problem, he recommended a cut in the number of people who move with the President.
The President secured buses from the STC to move apppointees and ministers of state throughout his tour in the Ashanti Region.
Appointees and ministers of state who will be moving with the President as he begins his tour in the Ashanti Region, today, Friday, 10 August 2018, which has incured in bus movement than rather four-wheel drives.
The move comes on the back of concerns of what critics say is the long convoy that accompanies the President on his regional tours
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is on a five-day working tour of the Ashanti Region which started on Friday, 10 August 2018.
He will undertake a number of activities including a visit to the Manhyia Palace to pay a courtesy call on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The five-day tour comes on the heels of the President’s recent tour of the three regions up north, having earlier visited the Brong Ahafo, Volta and Western Regions.

What is wrong when government appointees are conveyed in one bus to save taxpayers money for more profitable projects? Have you ever considered the Ghanaians who patronize commercial vehicles? It illogical to make such comment. This is the right thing to do and the president has got it right.
What a country!Do people have nothing to do except to talk?Every Tom ***barred word*** and Harry is an expert on one thing or the other. This phenomenon has been tried in many countries and it's worked perfectly..If we are afraid of accidents then the president himself need not travel at all, because he could also be involved in an accident.Ghanaians talk from morning to night Monday to Friday culminating in Newsfile on Saturday and then we wait for the next topic on Monday. I don't know of any country that has been developed on yapping, and threats of voting out a government anytime things don't go their way .Aaaba.A country of yapping mongrels!
This is one of the dumbest experts in Ghana, what is the sense In carrying so many people around in the first place? What has the agricultural minister got to do with sod cutting for road construction? You call yourself a security analyst yet you never saw the sense In telling the president he only needed roads minister, highways director and DCEs of the respective areas. Now if the STC is not safe for the huge entourage is it safe the the Ghanaian traveller? What sort of people are we having as so called experts? This man has very little intelligent quotient. Why do you reqeust for v8 for the journalist too? Security expert my foot
U see how some fake experts in this country are ***barred word*** in their so called analysis, are we in a war country or a terrorists zone, what’s the meaning of this ***barred word*** talks
You don't need an expect to tell you this if you are a visionary and wise leader. It risky,if there is an accident you lose your entire government, that is why President and Vice President does not sit in one car. Nana is being dumb. What the hell of President
Why the big contingent in the first place? Nana Addo, these avoidable waste is a drain on the tax payer the opportunity cost being development, jobs etc!! Perhaps this is your way of protecting the public purse as promised in your inaugural address??
The President should stop his campaign travels in the country which are disguised as tours and get down to serious work cause Ghanaians are frustrated and disappointed otherwise he will be booted out in 2020. Most of the people around him are sycophants and are therefore telling him that all is well but this is not the case.I am a floater so I have nothing to lose by telling the truth.
Ebeiiiiiii Ghanaians and our so called experts. All that they know is to find faults. OK fine Mr. Security Analyst, Next time all the journalists that follow the president must each be given a V8 because it is also risky to put all of them in a bus. OR as for the journalists they are not human beings right. Annoying!
there is sense in what this analyst is saying, just that we find ourselves in Ghana where the threat on bomb attacks is so insignificantly low. but lets even pretend for a second that everyone in Ghana is an angel and can't do such a thing or even attack the vehicle. How abt road accident. the msg that this analyst is trying to carry across is so clear. He/She is not just talking about accidents or attacks ( after all they can be involved in an accident or get attacked in their individual vehicles)but the point is, just imagine letting all the ministers and appointees into one bus to later know that their vehicle has been involved in a gory accident, just imagine the loss on the state within a twinkle of an eye, even though economically, the idea is perfect.
Talk talk sorrrr . . Ah ghana. Wat abt d journalists that sit in buses are they not important.. The so called expects in ghana are killing ghana. I know understand y rawlings was hard
