Member of Parliament (MP) for Nadowli Kaleo constituency and Second Deputy Speaker of parliament, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, has revealed that the media’s unfriendliness towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is due to the total neglect and ignorance on the part of the party.
“We have forgotten that every message we hope to carry across is supposed to be done by the media, why then do we become hostile towards the media”? He quizzed during an interaction with delegates covered by MyNewsGh.com’s Fred Duhoe.
The MP was quick to add that almost all pro-NDC newspapers have collapsed under the previous government and bemoaned the fact that there was no cordial relationship between the NDC as a party and as a government with the media promising to introduce measures that will woo the heart of the media in order to disband the infamous media cabal.
Addressing constituency executives from Central, North and South Tongu and Akatsi North and South, at Sogakope on last Friday, the longest-serving MP in Ghana’s parliament raised concerns on how sadly newspaper outlets believed to have been championing the course of NDC over the years have suddenly folded up.
“ Did we ask ourselves why”. He asked.
In his bid to lead the major opposition party in 2020 elections, Alban Bagbin charged delegates to choose him based on his experience and ability to unite the party.
“Experience, I mean hand on experience is what yields results and not flamboyant campaigns. It about time we know as a party without our founder, we can’t win an election. This is the time to bring him (Jerry Rawlings) on board”.
He continued “I will run an all-inclusive government and not exclusive”.
Alban Bagbin is one of the numerous aspirants seeking to lead the NDC including Sylvester Mensah, Dr. Spio Gabrah and former president Mahama.
He has kicked start his campaign from the Volta Region stating without the “World Bank’s” support, he cannot succeed hence his decision to consult with them first.
The NDC has since given the green light for aspirants to pick nomination forms to declare their intention.

Am totally disappointed in Hon. Bagbin. At first thought, this man has a lot of vibrant ideas and conviction campaign message. The race has not even begun and he started these cheap politics? oh noo Bagbin is visionless. In any case, is he going into the race purposely because of Mahama? "silence is golden"..
Hon. Bagbin is hitting the right nail on the head and some JM supporters are hurt. Your man John Mahama was just a waste of time and resources on Ghanaians period.
So the numerous issues in the political environment, you could not pick any to run with than to castigate your own brother. You are not fit for the race.
It is indeed said "silence is golden"......You are gradually loosing your respect to this visionless politics.........
Han Ho. Bagbin not got any convicing Campaign message than those designed to ditch former President Mahama ?
