Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed concern at the prevailing harsh economic conditions in the country.
Addressing delegates at Praso in the Twifo Attimorkwa constituency in the Central Region, Mr Mahama said the harsh economic conditions, coupled with high cost of living in the country, is unacceptable.
He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in opposition made endless promises to Ghanaians leading to its victory in the 2016 general elections, but the only thing the government is now doing is just putting Ghanaians under harsh economic conditions.
Mr Mahama said, in the run-up to the 2016 elections when the NDC was in power, the then opposition NPP made fuel prices a major campaign issue, even though petrol was sold at just GHC 14.
The NPP further claimed that the price of petrol could be reduced by GHC8 which was a tax component and that it was possible to sell petrol at GHC6 at the time, Mr Mahama said. “Today how much is the price of petrol…?’, the former President asked, amidst rapturous response from the delegates.
He said it is possible for people to win elections through a campaign of lies and deceit but that cannot govern a country. Mr Mahama assured the delegates that hope is not lost as he is coming back in 2020 to work towards a reduction in the cost of living and harsh economic conditions.
He is therefore urging the NDC executives to make unity and building of party structures strong pillars for victory in 2020. Mr Mahama is on a four-day tour of the Central Region to meet with delegates ahead of the NDC’s flagbearership contest.

YOU MAHAMA YOU REACH BOLGA BUT TANGA NO NO NO. WE KNOW YOU ALREADY. YOU CANNOT ***barred word*** GHANAIANS ANYMORE
Now to more sensible matters Charley, the rise of the dollar is as the result of the banks IMF has ordered Nana Addo to close down. Once you create panic the next thing is for depositors to by dollars when they redraw money from the banks. All the IMF and world Bank conditions are meant to make us poor. Nana should fork those motherforckers. The dollar will rise to 6cedis if the fake and unnecessary panic is not curtailed. If the so called IMF don't need us they wouldn't be here. They're here because of hunger. If they don't come here it would be a big problem where they come from. They are nothing.
You think we have short memory, You want to come and Dumsor again!
If Mahama concentrates on the farm at Bole, he will not cry so much. Jammeh is working on his farm and he's happy. Crying Mahama in Ada will be crying again in 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032, 2038, 2042, 2046, 2050, 2054, 2058, 2062, 2066, 2072, saaaaaaa, he will be crying.
For the whole former President of Ghana to say 'Even NPP Supporters are Complaining About Hardship in Ghana' baffles me and it is silly. Why shouldn't they say so when, if indeed, there is a hardship in Ghana? Hardship has no party colors and doesn't differentiate by one's affiliation to a particular party, Christian domination, gender and tribe. Hence, it is neutral to these attributes. To have the mindset to make such a statement of a kind, coming from not a foot soldier of a political party but from a former President is very, very problematic. Please, note that expression or language externalizes our thoughts. As a former President, one expects a certain level of statesmanship and such a statement coming from a former President is below the belt. Just stay where you are now, enough is enough. Asem s€ b€!
YOU CAN LIE BY SAYING YOUR BALLS ARE GETTING BIGGER THAN YOUR WIFE'S ***barred word*** ***barred word*** YOU WILL STILL LOOSE BIG TIME.
The economic condition now is far better than JM 2017-2018 administration when he asked students to pay for utility bills and denied allowance for students in college, JM should spare Ghanaian's with his deceit speech.
