Some members of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG), who embarked on a demonstration to compel the government to give them permanent employment, have apologised to former President John Dramani Mahama for voting against him and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 presidential elections.
The teachers say they feel disappointed by the Akufo-Addo government.
TTAG said its members were supposed to be given permanent employment in September this year but the government, according to their intelligence, intends posting them to do the one-year mandatory national service, which, they say was not part of the initial agreement.
Feeling they had a better treatment under the past government as compared to the current administration, some of the aggrieved teachers chanted: “Mahama, we are sorry”, and pleaded with him to “come back”, as they demonstrated against the Akufo-Addo government on Wednesday, 7 November.
“If you don’t take time, my dear, you will do something that you are not supposed to do”, a female teacher told Accra FM during the demonstration, explaining: “You will be gallivanting around chasing men here and there [for survival]. Meanwhile, we have completed [school] and need to be posted”.
Another demonstrator stated: “We want newly-trained teachers to be posted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) [and not to] enroll us for national service”.
Clad in red to signify their anger, the TTAG members marched through the principal streets of Accra with placards which read: "Thanks for Allowance but post us now", “You gave us an allowance and so what?”, “Education sector is in limbo”, “Napo must go”, “NPP, we are tired of promises; post us now”, “NPP has betrayed us, GES post us now”.
The march started at the Obra Spot near the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange and ended at the Hearts of Oak Park.
The group will also present a petition to Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Lol. Under Mahama you didn't have any job. He stole all the money and said the meat had been chewed to the bone so he was going to go to the IMF for a bailout which would entail 1. confidence. 2. technical expertise and 3. bailout as in cash. The IMF came and said well, for the $918 million dollars bailout, all the teachers and other health professionals which we needed to necessarily employ for our educational and health sectors, forget it. They are of no use to Ghanaians, no employment for them by the State for $918 million dollars. Just yesterday we read the Auditor-General had surcharged some MP's and Ministers as well as private companies who were engaged in Mahama's administration after OccupyGhana sued the Auditor-General for not surcharging them in the loss of over GHc40 billion cedis. When you even use the change rate at today's terms it's more than the bailout amount Mahama went for. So Ghana and Ghanaians know better. He's not coming back ever. Per the laws establishing the NSS, it's mandatory to undergo national service. Everybody wanting employment in the public sector and even the private sector needs to have done some national service-giving back to the society. So that is it. Mahama is never coming back at all.
When did the teacher trainees become ndc members. eii npp paa now all journalist are ndc members, all TTAG are ndc members, all TEWu members too. the same people u used. agroo no b3y3 d3d3d333. You never learn, the four years was not a bonafide property of John Maham oooo. It will shock you guys to the bone marrow
Just restore the posting NPP, or you can ask JM about how the alawa affected him. it is a major political tool to use against you
My humble advise to this government is never to employ these so called ndc unemployed teachers, let them suffer like their party made others to suffer for 4 -1 year before NPP government employed them. Leave them to suffer who cares? 2020 is just at the corner so they can wait there is no need for them to even do that demonstration if really they are genuine teachers but not ndc footsoldiers and wait for 2020 and vote fir their ndc since NABCO beneficiaries are more than them, Planting fir food are more than them, Agric extention officers are more than them and they wouldn't vote ndc fir them to cancel that program for you the minority to enjoy! Nana and his government should heed to f000*00ls like that! and did I read they say they are going to present what to the Vice President? Alhaji Bawumiah please don't give audience to f000*00ls fir you will never benefit from such idi**ots let someone meet them and put that trash in the toilet just to forget about it! if you dont treat f000**00ls to what they believe in they take it as being wise ! leave them to rot in unemployment ! ***barred word*** kwa! You listen to them more f000**00ls will show up! just do what is right for Ghanaians after all John mahama didn't leave any money for their employment !
All NDC need to tell them is we will post you right after School. I mean you posting is guaranteed, hahahahahahah. NPP in trouble huanted by their past
ndc when are u going to glow 😂😂😂
tickle yourself and laugh! 2020 will show you the exit.
the tool npp used is now working against them. Eiiii ampa KARMA is a Bytch
***barred word***
Why don't you ask the electoral commissioner to hold elections for you now so that you can vote for Mahama? It is because of people like you that's why good people refuse to serve in public office.
