Re-elected General Secretary for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has described his former Deputy General Secretary Koku Sitsophe Anyidoho as just one of the many principalities who were against his candidature.
According to Asiedu Nketia who polled the highest votes among all the other contestants, the likes of Allotey Jacobs, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and other renowned pollsters, all predicted his defeat.
Speaking on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, he posited that his victory shows that the NDC former Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs was wrong about him [Asiedu Nketia] being arrogant and a dictator in the party.
“Allotey had his assessment of me wrong; there is a problem with his assessment of me being a dictator and an arrogant person because the king makers who are the delegates think otherwise and then voted massively for me above any other contestants at our congress. I read a report of BNI polls predicting my defeat as well as other polls. This shows the principalities I was fighting against and not only deputy [Koku Anyidoho]”, he said.
He emphatically mentioned that the NPP government wanted him [Asiedu Nketia] out of the way, and tried using his deputy as leverage.
“There is a saying that ‘when a wall cracks open, a cockroach finds its way in and so some people wished they could use the opportunity created that Koku was contesting me and then hijack his campaign to achieve certain ends...this government wanted me out of the way. Ask them, who are they afraid of? We are going into 2020 elections and so they want to get away our key people in order to make the fight easy for them”, he asserted.
Buttressing his point about the NPP government’s scheme to oust him from office, General Mosquito as affectionately called, said even some dye-in-the-wool NPP serial callers were constantly on radio calling for his head; and making spurious allegations against him.
He, however, praised the NDC delegates for being "discerning enough to know what is right for the party and choosing the best leaders they believe can wrestle power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2020 general elections in 2020".

Your statements even is an insult to Koku describing him as a cockr0ach, you really exhibit your arr0gance and stup1dity all time you have the chance to redeem yourself....you people should just wait and see 2020 would be like magics to you and your dreamers.
Massa Aseidu Nkaiatia, You are the lest person the ruling party NPP will have in mind wai. Let me tell you what the Npp wish was, that the NDC delegates vote for you again so that the likes of John Boadu will beat you again. Remember that the NPP was able to beat you hands down, when their party did not have a Gen. Sec. and that the organizer was the same person doing the Gen Sec. work (John Boadu) but still the Npp beat you and your so called unity party with it ill gotten wealth NDC got 44.4% .
