Former President John Dramani Mahama is baffled that the NPP government would prioritise flying blood with drones in the face of the numerous challenges confronting the health sector.
That choice is not a priority, John Mahama remarked to a loud cheers of from an NDC gathering after he filed his nominations form on Monday.
“Instead of prioritizing the needs of the health sector, the NPP government chooses to acquire drones to fly blood.”
Parliament on last week approved a $12,527,000 deal the Government of Ghana entered with US-based Fly Zipline Inc to distribute medical suppliers across the country with their drone equipment over a period of four years.
The Ghana Medical Association and some stakeholders have asked the government to cancel the deal because it is a priority of the health sector.
John Mahama agreed and demanded, “Government should get its priorities right by spending the limited resources on more essential interventions other than copying innovations without relevance to therealities of Ghana’s current needs.”
The former president mentioned the ‘no bed syndrome’ which he said is an “indictment of leadership” as well as health worker shortage among other “chronic problem in our health service”, and said these should have rather attracted the attention of the government.
He accused the Akufo-Addo-led government of abandoning health sector projects initiated by the NDC administration.
“Unfortunately, many of these now stand unattended to, monument to the petty partisanship of the day while our people persist in their despair. It is beneath our dignity to allow this to continue.”

Look at this vision.less, clue.less. and incompetent dead gooat president and ex president. Giving last minute bauxite contract to your bro, and state cars to opportunistic actors and actresses was a priority to deliveries essential medical items to the masses. JDM sometimes listen to yourself kakra wai or let your babies with sharp and tetanus infested teeth listen and tell you.
Tell Ghanaians what you achieved in your 23 months in office as a president so we can vote for you.
ACTUALLY, THE PRIORITY IS TO BRAND BUSES AT INFLATED COST, GYEDA, SUBA, JUDGEMENT DEBTS, GIVE MINING CONCESSIONS TO FAMILIES AND FRIENDS AND FATHER KID OUTS OUT WEDLOCK
Papa JJ said it right! Did Mahama listen to himself when he spoke? I bet he did not. He wouldn't have indicted himself in all that he said. How many years does it take to train health workers? Why does he want to blame the lack of health workers on the current government? He should blame himself for that situation knowing that he should have solved that problem. He is not a strategic thinker at all. He has demonstrated his lack of vision and desperation for a comeback but to continue his visionless leadership.
u dont have any priorities in life..only sleeping around with young girls
Yes oooo Mahama has regretted saying what he shouldn't have said, hahahahahaa
DOES JOHN MAHAMA THINKS BEFORE HE TALKS.WAS BUYING V8 FOR CHIEFS AND JOURNALIST A PRIORITY.MAHAMA IS SO ANNOYING.
Is it that we are doing politics or we do not understand the issues? So is that how he was governing Ghana?
Of course Ex-president Mahama is right.Saving lives isn't a priority but all the dubious deals and contracts are. You are very very selfish, after growing up in a rich home, obtaining everything free from childhood, you want to deprive others from benefiting from good initiatives. He's been an assembly rep, MP, deputy minister, minister, vice president, president and he wants to comeback again. As what? King? Senior President? Mahama has had all the time to make Ghana a better place which he couldn't, one of the biggest mistakes we've done as Ghanaians was to vote for him(ie. As to even if he won) I wonder why some Ghanaians would kickback against good policies. You want government to construct roads with 12.5 million dollars, money which can't build even 30 km surface dressing road, aaah Ghanaians. Herh, we are the reason why desperate people who want power say anything they want.
bus branding was a priority under this s-hameless th-ief
