De-Eye Company, an alleged "militia" group, has sued Multimedia and journalist Manasseh Azure to the tune of GHC10,000 000 for defamation.
In a writ of summons sighted by Peacefmonline.com, the group is also demanding for an apology “in the same prominence on Joy TV and four publications in the Daily Graphic”.
An undercover investigation titled “the Militia in the Heart of the Nation” put together by Manasseh Azure captured the De-Eye group using the former seat of government, Osu Castle as their training grounds. Per the documentary, the group which is allegedly affiliated to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) trains men and women for security jobs.
Even though per the documentary government was aware of their presence at the Osu Castle, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says government was not aware they were still in operation because they were evicted in October 2018.
Below is the writ

This is time for Manasseh to prove an illegality. There is no need to shout outside. The court is there to settle issues.
AN ILLEGAL SECURITY COMPANY TRYING TO SILENCE A CONCERNED CITIZEN AND A JOURNALIST FOR DISCLOSING THEIR ILLEGAL ACTS BEFORE GHANAIANS. WE WAIT TO SEE THE OUTCOME AND EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY WILL TAKE THE LAW INTO HIS HANDS. SUCH SI*LLy ACTS SHOULD BE TOLORATED BY GHANAIANS BECAUSE THE PERSON COMITTING THE ILLEGAL ACT IS AFFILIATED TO THE SITTING PRESIDENT NANA ADDO AND THE NPP? WHAT NON*SENSE IS GOING ON HERE IN GHANA? THIS COUNTRY IS NOT AND WOULD NEVER BE A BANANA STATE.
Jokers!
De-Eye group must be surcharge for using the state's facility for the past years. But it won't happen at least not under this super incompetent Nana Addo.
I will take deep breath after Nana Addod exit office.
@LEXZO: Good ONE THERE. Educate them; for political and tribal allegiances have blinded their so called acquired educational knowledge.
@Ben & Kyei. Who said the Osu Castle is a security zone? The government has made it clear in 2017 that they place has been handed over to the Ghana Museum Monument Board. You can visit there as you do to Cape Coast Castle
it is good they are testing the laws, i am 100% sure if their documents are not up to dates, the court will throw them out irrespective of their political affiliation. Let us not jump the guy buy saying what we do not know. if Mannsseh did a good job, the court will prove it the case out but if he did his work wrongfully, then they should be ready to pay the fine. This is a legal case and not the one me and you sit under trees and argue without any qualified judge. let us wait and see. my view
Ah.....no wonder Gen Mosquito said "any ful can go to court".........You are operating illegally at a location that is dear to the country's heart, when you are exposed, you take down your web site and now have the guts to court to sue! Ah! ah!! ah!!! Honestly, Ghana is becoming a bit scary under this government!!!
Too much fuulishness going on under lawyer Nana addo. Ghana is fast becoming a use.less country. How can an illegal security company operating on the blind side of national security have the guts to go to court for being exposed. This can only happen in Ghana being governed by an liar. If the CID boss who is inviting tape recording speeches and inviting Mugabe for his allegation of attempt to kill mannessah, these fuuuuulls would have learnt some lessons.
