The Northern Regional executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the weekend donated relief items worth GHȻ20,000 to victims of Nakpanzoo in the Savelugu municipality whose community was hit by a rainstorm last Friday evening.
It left hundreds of the residents displaced and property worth millions of Ghana Cedis in its trail.
The victims were full of excitement when the regional executives of the NDC arrived in the community with bags of maize and packets of roofing sheets to ameliorate their plight.
The Regional Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila, who presented the items on behalf of the party, said it was the party’s effort to ameliorate the suffering of the community.
He said the regional executives were not donating the items for votes but to assist them out of their predicaments.
“We are not here to do politics but to only sympathise with you,” Alhaji Mobila insisted and said the donation was the beginning of more things to come their way as the regional executives were liaising with the leadership of the party to bring more relief items.
One of the displaced persons, Mahammudu Ziblim in an interview with the Ghanaian Times commended the Northern regional executives of the party for the gesture which had come at the appropriate time since most of them were depending heavily on relatives and friends.
Many houses and other structures at Nakpanzoo had roofs ripped off completely by the heavy wind and rainstorm that occurred.

They should do more. They have the means and should do more for the poor. Are the the national resources shared equally? NO some have more than others and the rich should help the poor and afflicted. That is what both religions Muslims and Christians should do.Thank you and bring more
The results from PFJ else you would have imported them!
DAA DAA DAA, THIS IS ALL THEY DO FOR VOTES BECAUSE THEY KNOW THE NAIVETY OF THEIR PEOPLE. AN EDUCATED AND AN EMPLOYED PERSON WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO BUY THEM WITH GOODIES DA...NEVER. AND BECAUSE OUR POLITICIANS KNOW WHAT WILL MAKE US INDEPENDENT (EDUCATION AND JOBS), THEY HAVE REFUSED TO ALLOW THAT HAPPEN, SO THAT THE MAJORITY CAN ALWAYS DEPEND ON THEM FOR HANDOUTS SUCH AS THESE FOR VOTES....SMH
Good one there. Credit to NDC.
They were more interested in making the news than actually helping the people. Why invite the media to go along and cover a donation of items worth 20,000 cedis? We know no donation is too small, but why could they not mention the number of bags of maize and the number of packets of roofing sheets so we can know whether they actually rescued distressed communities?
