President Akufo-Addo Accepts Hon. Rockson Bukari’s Resignation From Office
Meanwhile, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has accepted the resignation from office of Hon. Rockson Bukari.
This was after, Minister of State at the Office of the President submitted his letter of resignation to the President on Monday, 29th April, because he had “taken note of the tape circulating in the media”, and had, therefore, taken the decision to resign “in order not to allow the tape to disrupt the focus of government in delivering on its mandate.”
He further stated, in his letter, that he resigned “as a matter of principle”, having “exercised judgment contrary to what I have known you to stand for and require of your servants in running this country.”
The President accepted his resignation, and wished him well in his future endeavours, Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency, said in a statement.
Kill the story
The embattled former minister was in the news for all the wrong reasons a few days back after the said telephone conversation on an attempt to bribe the reporter to ‘kill’ a story about a judge went viral on social media and main stream media.

Which school did you go and which teacher told you if one resigns he has showed sense of humor. Please, try and understand the words and phrases you use in order not to disgrace yourself in public.
looking at the man face im afraid for that journalist.. he might apply juju on him, his face shows
Hahaha. Nana Akufo Addo would be angry with this man for not waiting to be cleared as usual. Rockson Bukari has exposed NPP Govt big time. Sorry Presidoooo, this time you have been outwitted. No clearance.
Nana Addo and his GOVT have been corrupt from day one. More will be exposed soon. Congratu;ations to the Honourable StarrFM reporter, Edward Adeti.
This Rockson man did not wait for the President to set up a commission to CLEAR him. He made a big mistake. Ah! this man paaa. The President would have cleared him sharp if he had waited small.
No it is rather One Mahama one car for celebrity,Daawa konko, tuusi.Come again
I will advise the president to launch the "One Week, One Scandal" (1W1S) program. No week passes without a scandal in this government.
Oh Ghana when will we learn, we want to practice democracy but when politicians demonstrate real sense of humour we tend chastise them, this is what the west do when they get it wrong they resign humbly, MPs and ministers resign on the basis of common parking ticket, lies, not winning a movement they have supported etc. So why can't we learn? so when the man has done the honourable by resigning because of something he things has gone wrong on his part, the ones with myopic minds start blaming the president instead of applauding the start of things like this. God save Ghana
I NEVER thought there could be corrupt men in NPP considering the way BARWULIAR in particular told Ghanaians they are sacrosanct. It's sad that the very people who condemned Mahama's government to hell are doing worse. If there so much corruption under nana addo then it's big disgrace to him.
