The Home Land Study Group Foundation have threatened to go ahead with their independence declaration.
According to them, though their leaders have been arrested, it does not deter them from going ahead with the declaration.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, spokesperson for the Ho branch of the group, Mr. George Nyakpo explained that though they will not disclose when their declaration will come off, their activities will still go ahead as planned.
"We have written to government and other international bodies about our secession and that we will continue as planned though they have refused to engage us in a discussion," he said.
He added that they will have a consultative meeting to decide further on their actions.

We will live oo tom and after 10 15 years when Malta region becomes like singapore, we don't want to see your hungry ***barred word*** coming to find ant job on our West Togo Land. God Bless My Voltarians
I dont think that we need to get ourselves into a calamitous situation with this call from our brothers from the Volta Region. A plebiscite should be organised for them to decide what they really want and if they truly want to break away so be it. The whole country can then initiate the process of getting all the voltarians to leave peacefully to their region and begin life. Those who are employed in organisations outside their current region will have to make the necessary arrangements to leave and their positions filled by citizens of the country. I think that we should grant them their request and move on as a country. God bless our homeland Ghana. I ma very proud to be a Ghanaian.
@Kobi. Tenkeeeeeew. Exactly my thought. When you speak to some voltarians, they love what these trouble makers are doing but when you tell them that they will also lose whatever positions they are holding in public institutions by virtue of them being non Ghanaians then they pull the brakes. You want to declare Volta as an independent state yet you want to keep your positions in Ghana. How possible? what kind of selfishness is this?
voltarians should start seeing themselves in Ghana aliens once the independence is declared, they will need ecowas before they can work in Ghana
