The Minority Leader of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has called on Parliament to name some buildings or Committees of the House after the late former Majority Leader of Parliament and former Chairman of the NDC, Dr Kwabena Adjei in his memory.
The Minority Leader made the suggestion in Parliament whilst paying tribute to the late Dr Kwabena Adjei who passed away in March 2019.
Haruna Iddrisu described the late Dr. Kwabena Adjei as a humble, hardworking and dedicated politician who put his experience at the disposal of the nation and the NDC.
Whilst eulogizing the late Dr Kwabena Adjei, the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu described him as an experienced politician who helped advance Parliamentary democracy by serving in various capacities in Parliament when he was the Member of Parliament for Biakoye.
The politician, who was the Chairman when the NDC won power in 2008, had been battling with a protracted sickness.
He died three days after marking his 76th birthday on March 9, 2019.
Dr. Adjei graduated with a PhD in Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, U.K in 1973.
He ventured into politics in 1978, getting elected as a Council Mmember of the Jasikan District Council in the Volta region.
The Psychology lecturer’s political decline began after 2014 after he lost his National Chairmanship post to Kofi Portuphy.
It ended his bid for a third tenure after first winning the position in 2005 while the party was in opposition. He was re-elected in 2009.
Dr. Kwabena Adjei popularly called “Wayo Wayo” is remembered for his controversial August 2010 comment “there are many ways of killing a cat.”

Please name your head office after him.He does not deserve such recognition in Ghana politics.
Who should name it buildings after Kwabena Adjei? What legacy did he leave for Ghana? Apart from politics that he earned his living from, what work did he do to merit the naming of Parliament house after him? The minority MPs should give us a break with this recklesssss demand. Your can name the 20million Dollar NDC HQ after him for all we care.
Then do that in his home town.
What happened when Accra Sport Stadium was named after the late Ohene Gyan? I will advise you to name the NDC main office after Dr. Kwabena Agyei.
What about Justice Annan and J. H. Mensah? Hypocrites. You neglected the man when he was alive and now you pretend you loved him. It is too late.
What legacy did he leave for this country, except his popular statement of,there are so many ways to kill a cat. Mieeaaw.
These corrupt politicians think they are the only human beings in Ghana who have blood running through their system. Everything in this country should be named after them? What kind of ***barred word****ity is this? Why are politicians naming everything after themselves? Are there no Ghanaians who have worked for over 30 years.
