Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Hon. Isaac Adongo, has described as "laughable", assertions by the Electoral Commission (EC) that it is impossible for the commission to rig any election in favour of a political party.
The NDC MP, also believes the conduct of EC Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa, can spark a revolution as she is fomenting “unnecessary” tensions with her posturing, thereby disrespecting the constitution and Ghanaians.
“When I hear comments like the EC cannot rig an election and cannot cheat for somebody I laugh. Elections are not rigged on the day of the election; it is not the day of the elections that rigging takes place”, he stated.
“...in other countries that there have been revolutions, it is not that they don’t have constitutions; they have constitutions but what happens when the anger of the people goes out of hands? That constitution that you are talking about is for them and if they feel that the way the constitution is being implemented does not inure to their benefit, you will see an uprising”, he indicated.
The EC Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa, a couple of weeks, sought to assure the nation that it is practically impossible to rig the elections considering how the country’s electoral system was so extremely scrutinised and monitored by the political parties.
According to her, no official at the EC had that power or the force behind him or her to alter election results to favour one political party.
Commenting to the issue and the impending limited registration ahead of the 2020 general elections, Hon. Adongo, who was contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji political show now on Pan African TV, claimed the EC is scheming to rig the 2020 election by making it easy for one political party to have easy access to the forthcoming limited registration exercise in their strongholds.
“If Ghana, as we know the demography, a particular political party stronghold has more members on the register because it has been easy for them to register, while the other political party’s stronghold is restricted or made impossible to register; you have rigged the election in advanced. Then you can have a fair election on the day of the election but the outcome will not be fair, so when we say you are going to rig an election as EC, we don’t mean that you will be stuffing the ballot boxes with ballot papers; we mean that you would have undertaken activities prior to the election and even during the election which pre-determines the outcome of the election and that is what we want to guard against”, he added.
He therefore charged the Electoral Commission (EC) to give a level play field to all the political parties in the upcoming limited registration exercise.
“We don’t want that to happen, so Jean Mensa must understand that for every step of the way, the totality of the views and concerns of stakeholders must be brought on board in order not to create an electoral process that has already pre-determined the outcome and expect is to now go and validate that outcome that you want to happen on the day of the elections; that will not happen”, he cautioned.

Adongo has always wanted the country to go out in flames God forbid. Am not surprised cuz of his background and where he is coming from. They don’t mind fighting over guinea fowl. Shame on you Afonso
After disgracing yourself with your comedy economics, you are back with the same Lito talk. ***barred word*** mp.
I now know that the NDC has benefited from rigging machinations of former EC members. Adongo is just telling us some of the methods they used to rig elections in Ghana, ably aided by the EC at that time. The NDC is agitated and making so much noise because they cannot manipulate Jeam Mensah and her group like they did Afari Gyan and Charlotte Osei. I can remember in the 2008 elections, Afari Gyan created so many constituencies a few weeks to the elections in the strongholds of the NDC. People cried foul but he still went ahead to do it. If you cut throats, you are afraid to sleep in a supine position to expose your own throat.
Adongo is saying so because he knows that his party benefitted from rigging under Afari Gyan and Scharlotte Osei. They "cut heads" so they're afraid to sleep in the supine position. Revolutions are not done on the radio with loud and big mouths like that of Adongo. If he is man enough, let him try it. They are perfectly executing the Ofosu Ampofu ev*il plans that were caught on tape. I don't know why this govt has relaxed so much and these guys are having a field day, despite all their ev*il deeds.
Jane Mensah and her npp scheme has been exposed....we will not allow you to suppress registration number in NDC strong holds while you make sure large numbers register in npp strong holds......***barred word***
Those so called human beings insulting Northerners, is everything cool with uu
BOLGATANGA "ADAM SMITH".
Who in his right sense will vote for Adongo and his NDC? Adongo pray that you win your seat otherwise you will go back to Bolga to sell dog meat. Ghanaians will not hand over Ghana to any northner period. They lack vision and courage.
So sad Ashantis wasted their cocoa farm resources to give these uselesss frafra guys education. Now they have the guts to spew ***barred word*** in Ghana. If not free education, Adongo would be selling chinchinga in Tamale or better still following cattles in the wilderness. They should ***barred word*** and let us enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in Ghana under the true blooded Ghanaian President Akuffo Addo. Those joined to Ghana from Burkina Faso by hypocrite Kwame Nkrumah are the ones causing mayhem.Ghana would have been far better and peaceful without the Northners.
They think they are relevant in this country right? so can get up at any given time to spew nons&ense at peacefm for Ghanaians to get irritated ! who is there at peacefm who is ndc that give these irritating ndc people the chance to spoil our good days? rigging is only known to the ndc and mo other party NPP doesn't need rigging to win an election Nana Akufo Addo is working with all his might, strength and soul to get Ghana to work again and we the Ghanaians are witnesses to the good work the NPP are doing and we don't need Adongonomics to tell us what rigging is? they ndc should concede defeat ahead of the 2020 elections because there is no way Ghanaians will handover their country to such people with no vision no clue nkwasea*sem ne Nkwasea akeka nkoaaa! they should know that those regions who voted for the NPP are different who want good governance and patriotism not create loot and share not arrogance, impunity, disrespectful and insulting characters ! imagine Ghanaians making a mistake to vote for the ndc for Adongo to be finance minister, Sammy Gyamfi deputy information minister did we go or come ! John mahama has stated ndc don't have anyone hence his come back and why would we vote for a party that lacks the human resources?you people are kidding me with NPP RIGGING for what ? NPP will be voted again according to their good works! ndc tell us what you did for the 8 years to help the people and what you will do differently! STOP YOUR RIGGING excuse because nobody will vote for you to rule us apart from your diehards and John mahama his wife and girlfriends! You haven't been able to make your party attractive and you crying about rigging!what non*sense is that and who told you Ghanaians want Adongo as our finance minister kai apuuuuuuuu!
