The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has bemoaned the 'deliberate attempt' on the part of the ruling government to distort history.
He was reacting on the commemoration of August 4 as Founders' Day; a day which has been set aside to be observed as a statutory public holiday.
Founder's Day was formerly observed on 21st September of every year. However, the ruling Akufo-Addo administration changed it to Founders' Day; August 4 after the passing of the Public Holiday Amendment Bill into law.
According to the NPP, Kwame Nkrumah is not the only founder of Ghana.
Kwesi Pratt reacting to this on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' said the 'distortion' will be changed once another government comes to power.
"Who on earth doesn't know Nkrumah was part of the founders; he has been removed totally, this 4th August, Kwame Nkrumah was not even in the country; so if this is not a deliberate attempt to change history then what is it? But it will not be like this forever, a time will come it will be changed again and we will know where the truth actually lies," he stated.

go and burn the see kwesi pratt.
Bra Kwesi, I beg, wake up small from this your entrenched position about Nkrumah and Ghana. People blazed the trail long before he was brought on board to complete the independence process and that is all what this Founders' day celebration seeks to achieve i.e to recognize the worthy contributions of so many other Ghanaians in the fight for independence. The day of declaration alone does not make Nkrumah the main character in Ghana's quest for self-rule. No history is being distorted here, rather the facts are being brought out clearly for young Ghanaians to understand and appreciate the facts well. Keep calm and stop your unnecessary dead 'Nkrumahism' and let's move on together as a country. Thank you.
Oh, Kwasi! This you thing has and will NEVER help you!
kWAME NKRUMAH THE GOD OF KWASI PRATT
On the day when Kwame Nkrumah declared Independence, was he standing on the dias alone? This is common sense and I just wonder how some people have decided not to understand this. After all is the 21st September still not a Holiday for Nkrumah. Massa HE DID NOT DO IT ON HIS OWN so give us a break.
21 September is still there to be celebrated as Kwame Nkrumah's Day so what is the beef. Does that mean the work of others should not be celebrated? You see why the CPP is still in the doldrums? ONE TREE CANNOT BE A FOREST.
No condition is permanent indeed.A time came when kwesi praat wanted to make nkrumah God in this country .Today, praat you see your sizes?crying?I don't believe it.
