Former Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Constituency, Cassiel Ato Forson has chastised the ruling government for 'deceiving' Ghanaians that it has fulfilled all its promises.
Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta while presenting the 2020 budget indicated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fulfilled all its major campaign promises; citing the implementation of the free senior high school, the one-village-one-dam policy among others.
“Mr Speaker, I am proud to stand here and declare that the President has redeemed virtually all the pledges he made to the people of Ghana. Mr. Speaker, the numbers indeed don’t lie and I have some numbers that make interesting reading. Today, we can be proud of ourselves for the progress we have made together as Ghanaians. This competent Government came into office with a plan. And, we are delivering according to plan. In the President, the people of Ghana are clear on what they voted for: leadership. Strong, assured, decisive, intelligent, focused and compassionate leadership. Election after election, he has been consistent with his vision, focused on his priorities, and unwavering on the path to getting us there. Not even two defeats could shake him away from his convictions” he intimated.
However, Ato Forson disagrees.
"instead of apologizing to Ghanaians you are deceiving them that you have fulfilled all your promises. we all know that is not true...when you are in opposition and you are making promises, you should know those you can fulfill and the ones you cannot but if you don't do that you end up making empty promises. Even if you are not able to fulfill your promises, you have to apologize but not Akufo-Addo and his government" he said while talking to Yaa Konama on UTV's Adekye Nsroma, Friday.

did the NDC apologize when they could not do the one-off payment of NHIS? Did NDC apologize for not being able to build all the 200 schools they promised? Did the NDC apologize to Ghanaians for failing us as a government and sending us to the IMF? I get very irritated when I hear people such as Ato Forson speak about the economy. What is your track record that people should vote you back into power? The NDC is just a bunch of losers with loud mouths and propaganda.
Only blind Ghanaians cannot see that the NPP government has failed and is completely confused. A government that prides itself of removing Ghanaians from the shackles of IMF is now priding itself when IMF praised the shoddy banking sector clean up. We thought the measures of IMF were austere so if IMF is praising you, where is the pride? For using austere measures?
A ***barred word*** is saying what? what was the money you kept in Mauritius? NDC ***barred word*** saying what?
You promised to build 200 SHS buildings and 10 collages of education in all the then regions during your tenure as the president, tell us whether you were able to complete even half of these promises. Please Ato Forson and NDC allow us to think of more important programmes.
Akoa wei ne ***barred word***. Shut that ***barred word*** buccal cavity already!
The NPP is not talking about 'Green Book' fufilment of campaign promises. These are practical and visible promises working to the benefit of all Ghanaians. It is not like the so called roads that were supposed to have been constructed and within 24 months every Ghanaian is crying for new road infrastructure. Ghanaians are wide awake to retain the NPP. Ato are you aware you are losing your seat in Parliament to the NPP?
When a President (Leader) forms a bad team then the output will be bad results. Leaders come up with a vision then they form a good team to deliver. At a point in NDC era, inexperienced Fiifi Kwetey and Haruna were Ministers of Agric and Industries respectively. How can they come up with programs like PFJ and 1D1F. So if Ato Forson is Deputy Minister of Finance then it is likely IMF has to step in for credibility
Your NDC promised a one-time NHIS premium payment when you were in opposition. When you came into government, you never delivered, you never apologised. So what is this irrit@nt talking about?
Ato Forson, the worst of the npp is the best of the ndc so we Ghanaians will go for the worst that ndc hate, that makes ndc feel uncomfortable because all ndc think of is to come to power to create loot and share! No sensible Ghanaian will vote for the ndc for dumsor, for create loot and share. Ato Forson tell us one policy that the ndc implemented and finished? You people talk without thinking first, heeey let me tell you ndc the npp promised free SHS they have delivered, NABCO they have delivered. RESTORATION OF TEACHER AND NURSES TRAINEE ALLOWANCES they have delivered, 1D1F they have delivered, 1V1 dam they have delivered !Digitization they have delivered, No More Dumsor they have delivered, 1 constituency $1 million they have delivered I can go on and on ! ndc are still sleeping please somebody wake them up it is day time! the ndc are losing their minds and it is scary to make ndc an alternative! Ndc Stop the talking snd bring your policies the NPP has a mandate with the people for 4 years and Ghanaians are the best to examine them not the ndc, and they are yet to finish with their 4 years mandate and definitely npp will retain power even the world has voted " YES" 4 more years for Nana and the npp !The people's Man and the people's party every where he goes Nana oooo Nana, Anyone who come from outside Nana ooooo Nana we appreciate you the man of Vision!
Mr Forson, But the 4 years mandate hasn’t ended, if Ghanaians don’t remember anything at all, they have been able to achieve something in the energy sector, the Dumsor which became albatross on the neck of the NDC and Ghana as a whole for more than 4 years has been solved by this government and hardly do you hear the disturbing noise of generators this days.
