Deputy General Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor says the obstinate nature of the Akufo-Addo government and the Electoral Commission (EC) to go on with the compilation of a new voters’ register is simply to rig the 2020 elections.
According to him, many political parties serving on IPAC have kicked against the compilation of a new voters’ register including institutions like CODEO and CDD, as well as Civil Society Organizations, but due to the ill-motive of the EC and the Akufo-Addo government to rig the election, they are insisting on the compilation of a new voters’ register.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the NDC Chief Scribe described the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson as a bad referee, trying to rig the 2020 general elections as a token of her appreciation for her appointment as the EC boss.
He maintained that it does not make any sense for the Electoral Commission (EC) to still go ahead with the compilation of new voters’ register in spite of the fact that 9 political parties have kicked against the move.
"Look at the number of Ghanaians who joined the demonstration in Tamale. We are hitting Kumasi next Tuesday 21st January, 2020 for another demonstration against the new voters’ register . . . Everybody is speaking against the new voters’ register and so why is it that only Jean Mensa and Akufo-Addo are obstinate about it? he asked.
To him, the deliberate refusal of President Akufo-Addo and Jean Mensa to adhere to the demand of Ghanaians to drop the compilation of new voters’ register for the 2020 elections goes to buttress the point of the Majority leader that only a new voters’ register will make the NPP win the 2020 general elections.
He again found it strange by the Akufo-Addo government to call for a new voters’ register when it was this same voters’ register that the NPP won the 2016 elections with.
Peter Boamah Otokunor, however, implored Ghanaians to reason with the NDC and also to know the political party with the interest of the country at heart as against the political party seeking for its personal interest.

Your yawning mouth is hungry, Otukonor
Otukorno go and fix your teeth for the ndc to be attractive, Ghanaians runaway when you open your mouth full of teeth! we prefer Akufo Addo to rig the election to do more to ndc getting elected genuinely to create loo000*00t and share, between Akufo Addo and his npp and john mahama and his ndc we will go for Akufo Addo the less evil ! ndc will rust and rot in opposition.
Rigging? Arrhhh but NDC's own members have given a very detailed account of how they rig elections, involving the the most notorious election rigger this side of the Sahara, in the person of the Gen. Sec of the NDC. How can a party with no message, no policies, no plans but very well versed in the ignoble art of election rigging, be accusing the NPP and Akufo-Addo, who, much to the consternation of the NDC, from day one of the inception of the 4th Republic, being fighting to stop and stamp out electoral rigging in Ghana?
THEY WERE OK COMPILING NEW REGISTER AT THEIR TIME BUT SEE HOW THE ARE REACTING THIS TIME. THEY THINK WE HAVE FORGOTTEN SO SOON AND AT TIMES I WONDER HOW THEY SEE US.
Ah why has the NDC chosen a lot of foooooooo66ls at their front line like that?
why eliminated moomu?
