The Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr has punched holes in an assertion made by Sam Pee Yaley, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) concerning the Electoral Commssions decision to compile a new voters' register.
Sam Pee Yaley contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Wednesday, said the EC doesn't have the legal mandate to compile a new voters' register.
Quoting article 45 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, he said: "the power to revise, register, does not lie with the Electoral Commissioner. It is a function they have to perform, given to it by law . . . maybe it's just an intention and we are all splitting heads over it but I will wait and look at the reasons why a new voters' register has to be established, but I hold strongly (the view) that Ghana has a register which is credible."
However, Kweku Baako who was not satisfied with the explanation given by the former Ambassador to India; in a text message, asked, "which law disables the Electoral Commission from compiling a new register? I am still waiting for an answer to my simple question."
" . . until a law is passed either in a CI; the right to compile or revise a register is a constitutional issue, it does not lie with the EC," Sam Pee Yaley replied.
However, Kweku Baako didn't let him off the hook...he continued to send in text messages to punch holes in Sam Pee Yaley's argument.

kweku baako is Annas
Hmmmm. Kwaku Baako has lost credibility so much so that many people are now bold to tell him in his face. He should have seen this by now but the slush funds will stop if he dares stop articulating a biased position. He has made a lot of money and acquired such a high taste that if he dares stop these biased positions, he will go hungry. Giving birth in the US taking expensive holidays cannot be done. Lets just consider him as stomach "journalist" who will make noise ALWAYS in favour of a particular political party and at a point, his utterances will be valueless if that has not happened already.
I thought I was coming to listen to sensible facts finding before speaking Kweku Baako. I am very disappointed. This guy is not Kweku Baako. Just wasting our time. Is he a lawyer? Mercy!!!!!
Why we like giving attention to Kweku Baako each day to talk on our TV platform? Why and what at all does he know. Such a person you always call him a senior journalist, shiiiiiiit! A senior journalist indeed always trying to defend a particular govt? Is that the duty of a journalist?
Kwaku Baako is a pathological liar. Such arrant nansins coming from a supposedly respected senior journalist. Senior journalist my f_cking ***barred word***!
The law of common sense
Papa I know it all.....No law bars EC from compiling the new register......but common sense should tell you that what ever will promote peace and keep our nation together should be paramount......... Have you considered the year in question? Have you considered the error-free nature of this without us at least trying these in some minor elections before the general elections? Have you also considered that the constitution or law does not work in a vacuum but to ensure orderliness in society? Have you considered that the law or constitution is made for the same people who are calling for EC to hold on? So Mr I know it all please no law bars EC bar common sense should rule wai!!!
KWEKU BAAKO AND HIS LIKES SHOULD BE MADE TO QUEUE FOR THEIR NEW VOTER CARD SO THAT THEY CAN APPRECIATE THE TROUBLES WE GO THROUGH TO GET REGISTERED AS VOTERS. NOBODY IS THINKING AGAIN BECAUSE OF GREED. GHANAIANS GAVE YOU THE CHANCE TO RULE AND YOU LORD IT OVER THEM. WHERE HAS THE 1 MILLION VOTES GONE TO?.IF YOU DONT LOVE YOUR CHILDREN WE LOVE OURS STOP THIS STRONG HEADEDNESS BEFORE YOUR SINK US INTO FULL BLOWN CONFLICT.
Maybe the NDC has its own Ghana Constitution and their lawyers went to a different Law School.
YOU ARE ALWAYS QUICK TO MAKE REFERENCE TO LAW BECAUSE YOU KNOW THE COURT WILL ALWAYS TOE YOUR LINE.LOOK YOU GUYS SHOULD TELL THE GOVERNMENT TO DO WHAT THE CITIZEN WANT BUT NOT WHAT THEY WANT.
