The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has decided to take part in a voter registration exercise should the Electoral Commission decide to go ahead with its decision to compile a new voters' register.
However, there is a caveat. There will be something akin to a legal challenge should the NDC fail to regain power.
The NDC is on record to have kicked against a new voters roll for this year's elections. Several renowned opposition party figures have made their voices heard on the matter.
As if that is not enough, the NDC, rallied some other political parties together, and form a coalition dubbed Interparty Resistance Against New Voters Register.
The coalition has so far held two demonstrations in Tamale and Kumasi, to press home their demand to maintain the current register. This has led many to believe that the biggest opposition party might likely boycott any registration exercise towards the compilation of a new voters register.
A leading member of the party and one-time Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale, says they will take part in the exercise but will contest the election 2020 results should it not go in their favour.
"Nkrumah (Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah) said never boycott any election and so we will take part in the election. We will write our names and take part in the election; if we win, fine but if we don’t we will not accept it," he said while speaking during a panel discussion on the "Platform" programme on Peace FM hosted by Nana Yaw Kesseh.

We need to change the NDC as the major opposition party. we need another opposition. they just a waste of time. Cant they for once give us policies that are better than the NPP? all they want is power for the sake of it. dammm! suprisingly they have followers who think, for them it is tribal war. so if you dont belong to them you are the enemy and for that matter any ***barred word*** action by the ndc they will forever support it. crazyyyyy!!!
won gyae mmboadzi wo ho mo
The NDC is not short of 1D!0+$.Everyone in that party is tripping over themselves to show how $-+u*P=1D they are. Don't accept the results when you lose. You know what to do. Go to court and don't ever think of m1$behaving?
What is it in the old register that will make the noise making NDC win if not changed? . Again why will the new register make the NDC loose? This is just noise they are making and the silent majority are making this noisy minority think that they are in charge of everything. Some of the other so-called parties who claim to support you are not anything to write home about. In the Election petition the NDC stands were that elections are won at the poling station and not by the voters register but now that you are in opposition, elections are won by the register and not at the pooling stations, double standard party. Encourage your members to come in their numbers to register should the EC opens for new registration and stop this war chanting songs. I think for once am tempted to believe the assertion that the NDC has some hidden secret in the old register especially with regards to the volta region and that is why they are burnt on resisting any move to change it
***barred word*** ***barred word***, you de talk like water dey in your head, which noble lady wasted her precious nine months to carry this ***barred word*** man
Namoale, maaba ni olu n3k3?
If 2020 election results NDC is already planning to boycott the election result, Ghanaians will definetly accept the 2020 election result in good faith.
Be laughing as you tickle yourselves. Who's going to vote for this corrupt npp government again. In fact many people are disappointed for bringing them to power.
you are very ***barred word*** amazu. how can you make that disgusting comment?
If what...? Mr man, do you think Ghana is for you? Dammmnn
