President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has thrown a jab at former President John Mahama, asking the latter to show him where his so called “unprecedented” roads in the Savannah Region are.
The president indicated that the numerous appeals for roads he receives from chiefs are an indication that the Mahama administration lied about their unprecedented roads.
President Akufo-Addo was responding to an appeal by the Chief of Kpembe, Kpembewura Banbagne Ndefeso, for the completion of the main Tamale-Salaga-Makango road.
According to the chief, the road has been a major problem of the people of East Gonja over two decades.
The president assured him the road will be completed before the end of this year.
“Your son told Ghanaians he has developed the road network across the country and when I said I didn’t see any, he said I was sleeping. But today you appealing for same roads to be constructed again so who is sleeping?” he quizzed.
He assured the chiefs and people of East Gonja municipality that his government will bring massive development to the area.
President Akufo-Addo, who is on a one-day tour of the Savannah Region, also cut sod for the construction of a 37-kilometer Bunjai-Fufulso road and inspected works on a GH¢10-million water project by Ghana Water Company Limited in Salaga.
He is expected to be in the Upper West Region on Tuesday to cut sod for the construction of the second phase of a solar power project at Kaleo.

I AM HAPPY THE PRESIDENT IS ASKING PRESIDENT MAHAMAH TO ACCOUNT FOR WHAT HE USED THE 49 BILLION HE BORROWED. WHILES WE WAIT FOR PRESIDENT MAHAMAH TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION I ALSO WANT TO ASK OUR PRESIDENT NANA AKOFU ADDO WHAT HE HAS USED THE 95 BILLION HIS GOVERNMENT HAS BORROWED FOR.GHANA IS SWEET.
Nana, you are just doing same but with a different phrase. You told us 2020 will see massive road construction in the country. The first month has just slip by and I have not seen any surveyor demarcating any road in my part of the country. Mahama could indeed be telling the lies if that is the picture you want us to see But you are also indeed sleeping on the job now for that is the picture you are painting with your promises. To us ordinary Ghanaians, the one who promises and never fulfil and the counterpart who tell lies are both the same. If you tell me of a factory built in my village and I get there and can't see it, and another tells me he will build a factory in my village but the days are going and no mansion is employ to start work, all amount to NO FACTORY. Good luck Nana. We need action
