The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been battling with the Electoral Commission (EC) over its decision to compile a new voters' register.
The EC, on the other hand, says the compilation of new voters' register for the 2020 elections will begin on April 18.
In view of this, some political pundits have asked the NDC whether or not they will take part in the registration exercise should the EC not change their decision.
Even before the NDC takes a stand, former Central Regional Chairman of the party and now Social Commentator, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, says he will take part in the exercise.
"I have my biases when it comes to this new voters’ register . . . I have made it clear that I will go and register; I will take part because I am a Ghanaian, as simple as that," he opined on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo'.

In just 3years you have become poor and eating cramps of NPP
Thanks Mr. Allotey, just as the small parties have started deserting those opposed to the new register, very soon only Tio and his kitchen cabinet will be left opposing the register. But please advise those who will be recruited for the mayhem that they should ask Tio to call his children to lead them otherwise they should collect the losso and vanish; if they try to play any "concert," there they will realize that concert party is practiced everywhere in Ghana.
The NDC as a party is like and ostrich, they have their heads in the sand.
Uncle Allotey, it saddens me that your party is not taking you serious on what you tell them. In fact the way I see things NDC should forget about the 2020 election. Look, while the president is in the Oti and Volta Regions preparing the grounds and the TENSCON also in Ho, the NDC is holding press conference at River Pra. The way I see things, the margin this time round will be wider than 2016 if NDC doesn't sit up and strategize well. The NPP Party has a game plan and are executing it gradually. Ghanaians do not vote by press conferences. Advice them to sit up. They will all register secretly. Leave them and go and do yours.
