Founder of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) Mr. Kofi Akpaloo, has opined Ghana is not in normal times.
The fight against the coronavirus is a collective one, hence the need for everyone to join in the fight, he posited.
He believes the government must develop measures to target the poor and marginalised in society especially when a partial lockdown has been announced.
Majority of Ghanaians he said live from hand to mouth and asking them to lockdown is not the best.
He condemned the alleged attacks on the public by the military who have been assigned duty in the ongoing operation.
The outbreak in Africa he stated has exposed our leaders and how they exhibit poor leadership.
"I am happy coronavirus has arrived. Whoever developed the virus has done well because it has exposed African leaders and their poor leadership,” he said.
Mr. Akaploo stated in Rainbow Radio that, the outbreak has shown that Ghana and Africa as a whole, is not prepared for lockdown compared to the European countries.
The outbreak he argued is a "biological weapon” which has been introduced. This is why people are being asked to stay home.
"Some workers in the hospitality industry have been asked to go home. The government must, therefore, pay these workers. We have to do it,” he added.

And these are people who want to be president of Ghana? Why would anyone be happy to have covid-19 in his/her country just to get at politicians? We don't need covid-19 to know we were always vulnerable and exposed as African countries. We have always known this. The snag here is that the virus will not even affect the politicians because it is another avenue for them to luut now what they would have looted later, all in the name of covid-19 fighting! Yes,as heartless as that sounds that is what these politicians: heartless "vampayas" who are always ready to exploit at the least opportunity. An audit into the expenses and accounts after this whole thing dies off will leave every one gasping for breadth at the rot that will have occurred. So for Akpalu to wish and celebrate the arrival of covid-19 is unfortunate because its effect will be on the wrong target who are the poor and vulnerable and not the politicians. Politicians will use the state resources to protect themselves and families and "luut" the rest which would have gone to protect the ordinary citizens.
And he wants to be one of the African leaders without a vision or Mr you're from space. This is not a wish even for your enemy. European countries are not seeing top. Read international news and be informed.
This prayer, God please answer for me wai. God let such people be infected so they learn lessons small wai. Amen
