The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has agreed with a section of the public who think the items donated from China should be well scrutinized.
If you may recall, the Chinese government donated tens of thousands of medical supplies, test kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to some 18 African countries including Ghana to help combat the dreadful coronavirus.
Prior to this, Chinese tech billionaire and co-founder of the Alibaba Group, Jack Ma donated similar items to Ghana and other African countries.
However, a section of the public doubts the genuineness of the items and has urged government to examine it well before use.
Speaking to this in a one-on-one interview on Neat FM's 'Me Man Nti' programme, John Boadu said he agrees those items should be checked.
"We should check all of them; we will collect them but we will also make sure it’s suitable to be used. Fighting coronavirus has political social and diplomatic implications and we need to strategize and be careful in our measures. As we collect those gifts we must make sure that they meet the standard," he averred.

For once Boadu is on point. There is the need to cross check whatever we receive from abroad as donation. Its all good for mother Ghana.Galamsey money is making this young chap Boadu to reason a wee bit.
Thank you Mr BOADU! GOD BLESS YOU
I lived in China for 5 years and who told you there is no unemployment. Ronnie you know very little about China so don't into this debate. Please educate yourself first before you are consumed ignorance which is a disease.
Do not let us also start writing and telling Akufo-Addo, the things you go about saying about them. If for nothing at all, as we have all known. But today you repay them with scandalous claims.
Childish mind of John Boadu on display...If the Chinese had donated cash dollars, would u have talked about sanitizing them? Whatever anyone says, it's clear at this time that the CHINESE are the smartest people on earth. Is there any country in the history of this world that has ever managed to put all of their population to use to produce for the rest of us? From Rawlings to Nana Addo, no leader has been able to put more than half of our population to work but in China there's virtually NO UNEMPLOYMENT. There's virtually NO HOMELESSNESS. If our leaders are smart, they'll attach us to China instead of the West, but they just happen to love the ways of our former slave masters. SHAME!
@BRA. Thanks for exposing yourself as one of the children. Helping does not necessarily mean giving out for free. When you go to the market, you pay for what you want but the sellers are helping you to access what you need. Otherwise, you may have to grow the produce yourself, which in almost all cases you are not in a position to do. So, learn from me, child. Not all help is for free, so there is nothing wrong with giving with the right hand and taking with the left.
CHILDREN WILL ALWAYS REMAIN CHILDREN; A SITUATION OF GIVING WITH THE RIGHT HAND AND TAKING IT AWAY WITH LEFT!
How unprofessional Boadu has behaved. Of course, all medical accessories have to be checked for suitability no matter where they come from, but in a case where conspiracy theories about China being deliberately behind the virus (which nobody has proved), you don't come out as a government/party high official to make these unguided statements. It smells of Boadu agreeing with these conspiracy theories going around. China is helping, ok? And stop spreading the unfounded theories going around.
