The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Builsa North, James Agalga is certainly appalled by the government’s decision to deploy the heavy military to the Volta Region ahead of the voters' registration.
He noted that the move is “disturbing” and an attempt to terrify indigenes from taking part in the registration exercise.
“Why are they [government] targeting only Ketu? That is my worry. This government is using the military wrongly, it’s an abuse of their operations,” The minority spokesperson on Interior in parliament said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
The deployment of the soldiers in the Volta region particularly has created a storm on social media with many Ghanaians divided over the issue.
Supporters of the ruling NPP have justified the move while opposition members push back with voter suppression claims.

This is a compilation of the military deployments to all border Regions across the country as stated by the Hon. Defense Minister. As has been already stated, the deployment was for the COVID 19 fight. The military officers are not part of any electoral process. But they will not allow any person to cross the borders into the country. 1. Upper East Region- 8 Officers and 199 men A. Sonfusi 1 officer and 20 men B. Wiriyonga 1 officer and 20 men C. And Aflao has only 15 military men with an officer. And if there is any ethnic group which should feel targeted, it must be the Kokombas rather and not Ewes. The NDC led by Government Official 1 must apologize to Ghanaians for the evil ethno-tribal agenda they have commenced.

non.sense, are you the one to tell the government how to use its military force?
So NDC and its surrogates like Agalga and Ablakwa don't want Ghanaians to have peace even for a little while. WHY? WHY again. You have come to a full stop with regard to the EC and have started another ***barred word*** venture. It is the same Ablakwa who raised unnecessary tentions in the Nigerian High Commission saga. NDC will do anything and everything to create disaffection for the Government. So sad. I hope Ghanaians will see through their evil plans and show them the RED CARD come December 7th. The battle is still the Lord's.
THE MILITARY PERSONNELS ARE PROTECTING OUR BORDERS PEACEFUL SO STOP THROWING DUST INTO OUR EYES
